I would still rather us use youth than dip into the loan market, someone like Derry, yes, someone like Jenas, i'm not so sure, his fitness is down, i'm not sure he would benefit anyone but himself and spurs.

On the other hand it could work, but as LIW says, it could blow up our faces having a big name on big money and not having the same goal as the rest of the team, season long loan maybe, but leaving after 3 months gives him less incentive than the other lads to do well and work for the cause...promotion.

People just don't learn do they? Dear me.

What good is he on like a 3 mouth deal?

Member delph who we had on that time? Come in unfit and just back from being injured... Got injured and went back to his club with in few games with us.... take him bloming 5 games just to get fit.... Just shows how far this once grate club has down...

I stick Pugh in. I don't think it matters any way Cardiff will turn us over just like Blackpool did I think.

Getting Derry in would be a good thing tho that's what I would do if I was nw forget Jenas.

Seeing as Green and Norris are both out for at least another month it'd be handy to get both Derry and Jenas in. If Spurs pay most of his wages then i don't think we've got anything to lose from getting him.

Will be carrying him. Not worth it.

Get Derry in and use Pugh as back up. Or put Pugh in.

Yeah I agree meme, it could take him 5 games to get match fit. But if he's got himself fit this summer and he's hungry to play football then he'd be a quality player at this level.

quality player?

Basted on what? When he played against us in the cup against a bunch of leagueers he was blooming rubbish.

I fail to see how he could possibly agree personal terms for this loan with us, when he failed to with Sunderland.
He and Spurs wanted them to guarantee him playing time which they could not. Imageine agreeing to this, him having a few shockers and then Warnock has no choice but pick him - way to risky if we are serious about finishing in top 6!!

He could also come and put in 5 awesome performances and we could walk away with 15pts

alot of top players under perform in cup games against lower league opposition

He has been a very good player in the past for forest, villa, toon & spurs also had a few games with England and is on the right side of 30.

I can see why ppl would compare the situation with Delph etc but Jenas obviously still has something to offer and 4 or 5 performances with us could lead to him getting back to Spurs or even another Prem Club.

No lose for us imo

Ok then forget it then, lets take Higgingbottom or Tonge....or stick Pugh in who everyone slags off every spare chance they get....yeah lets just forget about a player with actual quality and go for proven failures, amazing!

That's not what people are saying gelderd.
Has to be a signing that suits us, not a signing to get him fit and boost his ego so he can return to his parent club!

Thats the point of Loans isnt it? If he can get fit relativley over the next week & play 5 good games with us...hes happy, were happy & spurs are happy?

I think him & Autstin in the middle of midfield would be as good a centre midfield pairing as any in this league & probably lower Prem

meme - "basted" on the fact that despite everyone's criticisms of him he's still a Spurs player. At the age of 29 they wouldn't have kept him this long if they didn't think he was good enough to play for them. And yes, i know they tried to sell him in summer but to a premiership team. So I do think he could still prove to be a quality player.

He went on loan to villa for six months

How many game did they get out him before he got injured?

3

Poor signing

posted on 10/9/12

And what if he didn't get injured if he came to Leeds? Poor signing for Villa in retrospect yeah, but when they first signed him not many people would've said it was a bad decision.

He's been injured for last 3 blooming seasons!!!

20 games or less in last 3 seasons in league dread to think how many he has started?

Will see who's right!!!

posted on 10/9/12

Maybe we won't even sign him. We'll have to wait and see.

It seems strange to me that it appears some people on here, like meme, want Jenas to be useless if we sign him. Just to make themselves feel happy. Very strange.

posted on 10/9/12

Where did I say I want Jenas to be useless?

Am saying it how I see it.

posted on 10/9/12

Meme at no point have you said anything apart from how you think Jenas would be a poor signing. At least try and be positive!

Been on too good a contract to get shut of him.

Player like jenas, are the reason why england will never do anything, we prefer players who can run all day.

Never mind if they can actually do anything with the ball

LIW, if he's fit do you think he'd be a good player for us? I'm guessing no but I thought I'd ask you directly first.

posted on 10/9/12

If everything drops right, yes it would be good for us

But he isnt fit, never has been for 3 years, could distrupt the dressing room

Its not the road I would go down

just because a player is unlucky with injuries before doesn't mean he will be again

Neil Collins worked for us

Watt worked for us
