Shah is a good shout and has a reputation for hitting spinners for 6 on slow sub cont tracks like Sri Lanka will provide. He also had an impressive IPL and Big bash but they won't pick him cos of his fielding. Considering that most teams will play 2-3 spinners then I would rather have Shah in the team than majority of England's batsman who always get exposed against spin with the exception of KP and Morgan.
I would have Patel knowhere near my team.
I would start with Briggs. As if we're picking Patel because he offers better balance. Briggs is 21 and complete class.
One of the main reasons Hampshire won the T20.
But, we pick Patel instead. We go too far with this consistency lark. Tredwell is better than Patel.

I'm happy that Luke Wright is in the side as i've always like him & he's been in terrific form recently in the county circuit.
Tredwell, Bopara & Patel shouldn't be anywhere near the team in my opinion - i just don't think they are good enough full stop.
As a Saffer from Cape Town have seen owais shah play for my team the Cobras for the last 2 seasons What a player! I have seen him play some absolute magical knocks ,what a talent he is I'm suprised his not playing T20 for england I know his getting on a bit but what do u have to lose? His got experience and plays match winning innings under pressure , was awsome in the IPL too. everyone crying over KP ,shah can play knocks like him
Shame Patel is playing fellas, but otherwise I love the look of our team and think we can get by whilst carrying one bit of dead wood in this format.
That said, can anybody shed some light on Danny Briggs? Who is he?
The Saffers team looks awesome once again and this should be a very good test for us, as usual
Bopara has gone forever in my opinion, now let's see what Patel has to offer because he is close to going the same way.

Pakistan have taken a couple of wickets and are managing to slow this onslaught down a little. If they can continue this for the last 3 overs then they have really fought back well here.
And as I say that another Australian wicket falls.
Excellent bowling now.

Evening Maksi, yeah I hope Wright can bring some of the good form he has had in to the team, he can certainly smack it around. He did seem to drop off the managements radar a bit but he did go to the IPL and the big bash (not sure how much he played) so he is viewed as a solid T20 player around the world.
Not sure about Bresnan, they clearly want to play 2 spinners so only room for Broad, Finn and Dernbach in the seamer dept. In the T20 I would probably only have Bresnan ahead of Finn and I think they want him in the team to add some real pace.
I like Derns team with Briggs in it just cos like people are saying our spin options are not exactly world beaters and it would be good to take a look at a new player, maybe he could be our Narine.
Anyway here's hoping the bowlers get stuck, they are saying its a hard pitch so Finn could be a real handful. Come on England!!
Seriously , haven't seen shah much before he came here but he made a huge impact in the 50 and T20 competitions batting at 3 and guiding the team to many wins, also very consistent. England really missing a trick by not playing him, brilliant against spin in the middle overs and can go big later on. Have seen him and Gibbs destroy sum attacks together what Gem of a player hope he comes back again always a pleasure to watch such stroke play
