My first was an away match too, my dad took me to ayresome park 1980 and we drew 1-1 if i remember rightly, mickey thomas for us and armstrong for them, i think a wall collapsed not far from we were in the ground.
City fan 34 long painful years.
Spurs first game 1958, supported them for a couple of years before that, so 56 years of support.
20 years now, is a lot better being a Spurs fan now than it was back then I can tell you. We did have the wonders of Sheringham, Klinsmann and Ginola during that period though.
Been a Hamburg fan ever since August 30th when we resigned the glorious Van Der Vaart.
I supported Spurs when we had Ginola, Sheringham, Popescu, ect!
Then we got Andy Booth, Raziak, Micheal Brown
About 40 years.
First match was home to Derby.
Supported Liverpool since the end of the 60s.
First game at Anfield was an FA cup match in 1970 against Leicester 0-0.
Peter Shilton had his customary blinder at Anfield if I remember.
We have some old people here . I thought I was old.
First went to Highbury when kids never paid to get in the adult you were with just lifted you over the turnstile,or two of you just squeezed in together, the days when it got packed and kids were just passed over the heads down to the front.
Happy days.

I'm still in my 20's
Just
When I started supporting Chelsea Terry Venables was our captain and George Graham was also in the team
You do the maths .......
25 years, first game was at Highbury in 1987 as a 5 yr old, we used to bring a milk crate for me to stand on!!!

"Scribe put York 27 years, Spurs 22 years. That's just wrong."
.............................................................................................
But you have no knowledge of the circumstances. What if you were brought up in York and then a life-changing event happend, parents move, move job, go to university?
So you're building a new life with friends who are Spurs fans and you start going to games with them. Your submerging yourself into a new life and sub-culture, it's not hard to imagine how such a thing can happen!!!
First game I remember watching was the 1978 cup final - AFC lost but I've supported them ever since.
First game I went to was 1981-82 season, we beat Aston Villa 4-3 at Highbury!
Im Irish and when I was young Seria A was the only football on TV so started out as a Lazio fan (I was about 8ish) but my uncle brought myself and my cousin to an Arsenal/Crystal Palace game when I was 10 and I was hooked. Im 29 now.
well since the war kinda ended... and before it started again in Afghanistan.

I grew up watching Crawley Town and Brighton (due to my dad) was only around 14/15 that I found Spurs
