Because it was Celtics lawyers investigating Celtic. FFS if that's not a conflict of interests tell me what is?

How do you know it was Harper Mcleod that did the investigation? That information hasn't been made public. But i see you are in full on rage o frothing at the mouth paranoid mode so i wont try and stop you,it's too much fun.

Not being witty at all I'm deadly serious. How did Celtic manage to have an independant investigation using their own lawyers?

It's only paranoid when it's not true.

You do realise that these are not celtics lawyers?

They are lawyers that Celtic have used.

I assume that you have bought a house and used a lawyer to conclude missives. Is this now your lawyer?

Keep up the comdey Tafka.

Do you think Celtic would use them agains if they found them needing an investigation and how much would that cost them?

Also who do you think put the EBT's together in the first place?

Fffffffffffffffffacking hell.

Perhaps someone who knew the rules of using an EBT and not a P orn star turned accountant....

You are sounding desperate Castle.

Celtic in this case have done everything by the book....just need to deal with it

To those who are suggesting "Kangaroo Courts", "Celtics Lawyers" etc. please stop embarassing yourselves.

The emminently qualified investigators in this situation, Lord Nimmo, the other members of his panel and Harper McLeod etc, have only one thing that keeps in the position they are in, Integrity.

To suggest that any of these people would compromise their greatest asset for a petty football dispute is ludicrous. Any suggestion of wrongdoing would destroy their careers. Only petty minded football fans would imagine such a scenario.

In addition Rangers, Oldco Rangers FC and Newco, will have every chance to dispute their findings. Unfortunately Charlie and Co have thrown the toys out of the pram and refuse to cooperate. Methinks they may have something to hide.

Lawyers and integrity don't really go, hopefully the investigation can be kept neutral

As for Junhinos EBT, the facts are very simple and clearly show no intentional wrongdoing on the part of Celtic.

Celtic paid part of Junhinos severance fee in the form of an EBT. Junhino did not play for again for Celtic after he received the EBT.

Celtic were then advised, possibly by Harper McLeod (certainly not a prawn star), that this payment MAY have been unlawful. Celtic contacted HMRC and paid the relevant amount of tax.

As for conflict of interest issues, there are none.

The pool of qualified lawyers in Scotland, particularly specialised cases, is very small. A lawyer only has a conflict if they are acting for two opposing clients in the same case and would have to give them differing advice. A lawyer may act for/against a client that they have previously represented/opposed in court.

For example, a lawyer should not act for both parties in a divorce case for obvious reasons, but may represent the other party in a non related case.

In this scenario Harper McLeod, lawyers who have acted for Celtic (not Celtics lawyers), are acting for the SPL(not Celtic). In the Junhino case Harper McLeod would not have acted for Celtic, don't ask for proof they simply wouldn't.

I doubt very much that Harper McLeod rely to any great extent on their intermittent revenue from Celtic. As they are in the top echelons of Scottish Law Firms I am sure they bend over backwards to show they are not biased.

Hope that clears things up.

Cant be that as Celtic were found to be avoiding tax so they paid it and yet are clear with the football authorities

so if Rangers are told they avoided tax then the football authorities could and perhaps should also find us clear
