They are. I worry that we won't see much of Root and Bairstow. Strong rumours on WRF tgat were after two bowlers. James Harris snd maybe Jack Brooks who.is leaving Northants.

posted on 14/9/12

yes we definitely need a couple of bowlers not sure how long sidebottom has left in him. Both the bowlers you mention look good and I would be interested in having them in the team

yeah, Derbyshire - i wonder how that one works out? Both Yorks and Derby finish on equal points. Yorks have actually not lost ONE game whilst you lot have lost two. How can it be that they decide these things on batting and bowling points? An absolute load of rubbish.
Anyway Pakking before you get too bolshy, let me remind you that Yorkshire have won the REAL title 31 times and Derbyshire have won it, er, ONCE. Don't get over-excited!

Can you be any more ungracious?

Why not say "Well done on being CHAMPIONS, you deserved it as you WON MOST GAMES over the season... a terrific effort for a small county side run on one of the lowest budgets in first-class cricket and packed with local talent, bought through your academy"

Dearie me, I actually wanted Yorkshire to come up with us, but now I'm not so sure. No doubt you're a Leeds United fan too...with that kind of self-inflated opinion of your club and what you 'deserve'.

Derbyshire a la la la, Derbyshire a la la la...

Oh my I seem to have upset all the Derbyshire fans on here - all 3 of em...!!.
Nope, NOT a Leeds fan Marco - far from it in fact if you ever undestood what a 'Bantam' is - if you had ever bothered to even look at my profile. And far from being ungracious, if you had also bothered AT ALL to look at any of my other posts you will see that I actually was cheering Derbyshire on! Like you, however, i certainly won't be any more.
And yes i understand the points system Pakking, unlike you i have a brain - just that I was querying it that was all. It seems to me that a team that has actually 11 draws compared to your 8 and has a better points should have been top. Thats the vagaries of the system i guess!
Anyway, you have your little celebration whilst I remind you Yorkshire have 36 trophies and you have 3. I shall certainly look forward to the coming season!!

I love this cocksure assumption that Yorkshire wouldn't have actually lost any of the weather-affected games, if they had run their full course.

And as for the first tie break, you seriously think the team that wins ONE FEWER match should get the higher position?

Grow up, bridesmaid.

"I love this cocksure assumption that Yorkshire wouldn't have actually lost any of the weather-affected games, if they had run their full course...."
Why not? We were well ahead of beating YOU in both the games we played.
And I didn't just point to the fact that you had won one MORE game - we also got more batting and bowling points combined than you did! But now you mention it, yeah i think if its a tie then you should get an extra point for each game won and half a point each for a drawn game. I think that would be fairer.
Anyway, why don't you bog off this board as you quite clearly are just after an arguement.

If debating/correcting your wild assumptions is arguing then ok i'll "bog off", i'm obviously wasting my time with the likes of you.

Clearly, you had NO CHANCE of losing any of these games!

Maybe, just maybe, you were lucky not to play a full 4 days both times against Kent... or you may have missed out altogether.

Toodle pip.

what sort of an argument is that? Clearly following the analogy of the 'win more and you win the championship' it doesn't really matter if you lose a few extra!!
Thats why counties make ridiculous declarations so they can gain 15 points for the win!
I notice you only pick the games where we could have lost (and btw the Derby game you mention I think we had the upper-hand in!) and not the game , for example, on 15th August when we had you 190-5 in the second innings and only 30 ahead!!
By the way, my initial argument was NOT with you it was with pakking who clearly misread the 'Yorkshire' board as a time to be mischievous and childishly scribe 'derbyshire la la la' on it, more fool me for falling for his pathetic attempt at trying to start something off!

I love the fact you called Drbantam a Leeds fan.

That is comedy.

Anyway, this has become slightly petty. Though I agree with Drbantam that ut is an odd way to decide a title and infuruating, the rules are the rules and over the season Derby deserved their title.

I said only if its a tie on total points.
Marco, you can't add up very well can you? If it was calculated as I have suggested we would have 10.5 'points' and you would have 10.
Agreed, btw, Yorkie, rules are rules - but then we know the rules are pretty rubbish don't we? I think in all fairness as total batting, bowling and game points were equal the trophy actually should be shared. Thats fairest in my view
