Lmao....the Murray mania needs a reality check and some people need to stop get ahead of themselves,Murray may finally have gotten the monkey off his back, but this is by no means a forgone conclusion that Murray is set to dominate the game. For all we know he could have replaced the monkey with an ouran-outang! Its a lot harder to defend a grand slam then win one,its also a lot harder to win a grand slam with the burden of expectation....the impact this win has on him remains to be seen, only time will tell

Andy Murray has been in the top 4 players in the world for a long time now.

Here at the US Open, 1 of the big names was injured, 1 of the other big names is definitely on the slippery slope to retirement and the other big name has lost the ability to win at this point.

That left Andy Murray a great chance to win, and he grabbed that chance.

I keep hearing that the future of tennis is in the hands of Raonic, Berdych and Cilic. Gotta admire Andy for knocking each and every one of them out on his way to destiny.

I personally just take one tournament at a time and actually 1 match at a time.

"Monkey on your back" is widely used in sport and Andy is not in that group anymore.

Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, Colin Montgomery, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Paul Casey, Ian Poulter et al are, and they are all great players. It's tough to win these Slams/Majors but Andy has done it, and done it whilst entertaining us and with a great deal of style.

Forget about the monkeys......GOATS are in at the moment!

Forget about how many slams now. It's irrelevant.
The real question is: Can Murray be the GOAT?

He's beaten, OK - thrashed, Fed in the best of five at the Olympics, he's beaten Nadal in a slam, and now Djokovic. I'm sure he'd have no problem trouncing the aged Laver and Pete. He may let Agassi steal a set, just because he was his childhood hero.
I mean, why not?

Can Murray be the GOAT?

lol nitb. He has a long way to go He doesn't have too much competition these days to be honest, but Feds has set a very high standard and may never be beaten, and certainly by nobody in the world at this time.

What, even you don't believe?

I don't. Your man obviously has the best chance of anybody to get close?
With Rafas abscence and the inevietable demise of Federer there really is little around to challenge the other 2?

You are responsible if people will now be saying that Murray isn't winning more slams because of the goat on his back

PM,
for a man of your polished profile, please excuse that I have to ask this rhetorical question but have you seen Woody Allen's:

Any sign of Tim Henman winning a Grand slam yet? Or have we totally given up hope on that? I have only been waiting a couple of decades

Can someone tell him you have to get in a final first to have any chance of winning one.

Good article, by the way I do believe Murray will win a lot of slams but he has a GOAT? I would rather believe Del Potro as GOAT :D
