Siggy has shown moments of class, but has gone missing at times, while his passing is a mixed bag and so far his shooting has been nothing like, when he was at Swansea

he hasnt really even taken many shots on, even when he had the chance..

I thought Siggy was very promising, played in lennon with a great pass and found space in dangerous positions. Thought he threatened to play some killer balls, which on other days will come off. Think he will do well.

really eatmygoal?

have to disagree, and i think the general concensus of the spurs fans around me was that he was poor.

that said, we all had terrible views, so low down much perspective is lost especially in the half furtherst away. i will watch again on MOTD./

It's a difficult position whoever plays there and he's going to get crowded out or fail with through balls a lot, but he did v well for the goal, was in the right place for the big chance he missed. His corners were decent and i think he'll be better than VDV from set pieces. His goals and assists last year were good and i can see him doing it again. First goal will help.

Sigg showed encouraging signs and i'd rate his performance at 6/10

Made the first goal. His set piece delivery if he keeps it up should help us get a few goals over the course of the season. And his track record indicates that he'll pop up with his fair share of goals too.

I like the way we played today very much. Granted, against not the strongest opponents but as they say, you can only beat what's in front of you. Good pressuring, calm and collected at the back and to persist with Defoe turned out to be a great decision because he was on fire today. I wasn't expecting that, but Defoe

The team played with much more confidence. Think playing away from WHL where at the moment, the atmosphere seems tense, actually helped. Now we can approach the QPR game with confidence and, hopefully, a loud cheering crowd.

My overall impression is that Siggy was fairly good today. He was involved in a lot of attacking moves, where he was disappointing was at times I thought he lacked decisiveness. Lennon and Defoe seemed a lot more comfortable in attack but they've been part of the setup for years - give Siggy time and he'll settle in ok I hope.

Dembele seems to be slotting in nicely though

Chronic, what did i say about vertonghen? I know it was only reading but i told you so many times to keep the faith with him, he will be superb for us. AnywaY, excellent win mate. The spurs fans generally happy?

Oystercard, completely agree

Dembele Luka who?

What impressed me most about today's game was the fighting spirit the team showed. Everyone was battling for possession and they seem to have a bit of muscle about them which has been lacking in the past. We all love the slick style but it's good to have a bit of grunt as well. Happy that Defoe showed what we all know he's capable of. All in all, a good result and a real confidence boost.

Bale dors not have AE or Modders to free him-so he will look ordinary for a while until he works out a new method

don.

yeah, but like i say, it was reading, and up to now i havent been impressed, however i did say throughout that hopefully he just needed to settle.

all the spurs fans were happy with the win but annoyed at the goal conceded.

to be honest, we all turned up expecting to win, and we did so, so it was just normal

I thought Siggy did well. He'll get better in time, he was really unlucky not to score and his good work was not rewarded with the service his movement deserved. For example, Defoe, despite his goals sometimes needs to link up better. There were a couple of occasions where he is really greedy. I can think of one chance in the 65th minute where he should have laid it off to Siggy, instead he shot. There is a lot of abuse going his way but if he was given the service from Defoe, he would have scored.

I think what we are seeing now is that AVB is changing us slowly. The team is becoming fluid and interchangeable and although it may be frustrating at first, he is bringing through young talent. I loved that Naughton played today although Townsend could have come on earlier.

For me Ade is no guarantee. AVB really likes Defoe, and I think he sees his qualities. I expect Ade to come back in eventually but if Defoe does lose his place then he can have no qualms, he has been given a great deal of support by AVB.

On the AVB situation, he has been impressing me since the Newcastle game. He's got good knowledge about the game and I think he is forming something completely different to Harry's team. An interchangable and powerful team!

Was at the game as well - live in Reading but Spurs by nature (though Reading come a close 2nd) - had to sit with the Reading faithful so it hard not to celebrate when Spurs scored.

Anyway, thought the overall performance was ok - it is going to take time to gel & I felt we really didn't get out of 2nd gear but to be fair Reading were poor today.

Just feel we need to up our game if we are going to beat better teams (time will tell).

For me - Dem & Vert were superb with the rest doing ok - not sure though on Naughton playing left back - didn't get forward enough and cannot use his left foot - maybe being a bit harsh but again too early to judge.

Need to rule out stupid goals though - Brad didn't have a single shot to save expect for the one at the end & that was poor defending as a unit - again switched off - If it had only been a 1-0 then we would be cursing yet again.

Finally good support from the Spurs faithful!!

coys!

Chronic

This is what Verminator thought of it.

Verminator_05- Le Koss.

In all seriousness, Reading were unbelievably awful today. Southampton yesterday atleast kept the ball in the second half and threatened but Reading played like a pub side.

The same pub side that nearly turned over the European Champions on their own patch a couple of weeks back. You have to laugh at the silly g oon.s
