I thought you wanted Neville to play yesterday didn't you?
He's terrible in midfield, has been for a long while.
Moyes doesn't trust Barkley yet, that's obvious, he was only average for Weds last Friday from what I heard, so maybe he's right to be holding him back.
Osman has his worst game in ages as well, which didn't help.
I think Barkley needed to go and get lots of experience week in & out. I agree with the comment about Nev though, we should've played Fellaini in that position and have Naismith partnering Jelly.
Ho-Hum, Linesman made some money in the bookies no doubt
I said I like Neville in the side, he did nothing wrong in my opinion...just we all know his limitations going forward. I would have played Fella and Nev together in CM and pushed Ossie up in support
He did nothing right either, he was a non entity in there, it's like playing with 10 men at times
Lets not be so harsh, he just helped link play between defence and our more creative midfield players and retain possesion.
Howard was at fault for the first goal also,he didn't set himself up properly for the shot and it was passed him before his feeble dive.Second goal we should have had distin attacking the 50 yard + ball played into the edge of the box and jags covering the knock on.
I was as much angered by the conceding of the second goal than the decisions that went against us.
Also no pundit mentioned that the game changed not only because of the sub Pardew made at half time but also the enforced substitution of Jelavic on 43 mins.Big Vic took his goal well and should have had a second, but his general hold up play and positional play is not of the standard of Jelavic.
Vics reactions to his disallowed goal were fantastic.....it came at him so quickly and was a pretty good block by Harper also!
Harper was my personal MOM for his sporting behaviour after Vic had chased down a backpass and not trying to get him booked
Fellaini: first half you're right, he did Ok, it was 2nd half when his weaknesses were exposed, when we were on the back foot more.
3 left feet: I think that's a perfect summary
to be fair, i thought wrt to the disallowed goal, from where i was sitting the ball should have hit the net therefore not causing this debate in the first place.
It wasn't a foul anyway for the fk leading to it! You were shafted twice though (then we were to make up for the refs hunch you were shafted which would've lead to us scoring as it was 3 on 1!). Battered us first half.
Not sure i really follow your post Andy....but we were robbed with two bad referee decisions, but should have had the game wrapped up in the first half 2/3-0.
OP
I can't believe Phil Neville still gets a game for you lot.
Your problem was your centre halves yesterday, they let the Newcastle strikers dominate the long ball into the box.
We went to sleep at the back for their second goal. To concede a route one goal just after you take the lead is terrible.
However, we should have been comfortably in the lead at that time.
Not sure what annoyed me more the disallowed goals or the inability to follow basic defending logic with a min to go.
By the way poor showing from the away fans very few.made journey. Thought Newcastle was supposed to be a big club. Well that's what a lot were saying on twitter before game how they are bigger than Everton. Just shows you how wrong you can be.
Fulham have a better away following.....
ZZZ are you really bringing up the big club thing. Great banter . Monday night trip, £40 tickets with an away game in Europe on Thursday not a bad turn up. Seen just as bad following from everton at SJP over the years and that is on weekends!
Fellaini the free kick that Anichebe had his goal not given for was never a free kick

if that was the case then everton have nothing to moan about.
At least we didn't have to look at Pardew's slimey, smarmy grid on the touch line.
what did you think of his post match interview? Would hate for you to take something he says out of context again.
What was out of context about his "operating in different leagues" comment in May?
The fact it was about holding onto players and the financial position we're in. He also went onto say after that match Everton will be hard to finish ahead of next season (this now) with a front two like Fellaini and Jelavic but hey ho lets just read a headline and jump to a conclusion. Much more fun.

And the offside? I would like to say they even out....but they never do. I guess the linesman was getting even by not allowing a clear goal then.....
Plus it was a foul....thats why the ref gave it
the offside was offside can't say anything about that.
Regardless though hope we both finish above Liverpool again (not that it looks like they're putting up much fight.... again)
