Rogers vs AVB

BR is a top manager and when he inds his feet he will do well.

AVB is a flop. He's shown that during his Chelsea period and even though he got a win, Tottenham have looked poor this season.

Out of the two, AVB would definitely get the sack first.

Rogers has shown some sparkle against the likes of City, where they should have won.

AVB with draws against Norwich, West Brom at home are not really convincing.

I think BR still pips it for me. Certain he will come good, especially later on in the season.

Whereas AVB is the laughing stock of London. Even the sp_ds laughed at him while he was in Chelsea and now they all think he's the messiah!!

Indeed and your manager got sacked for it, you now have a fresh new manager, and was signed to do better then Harry, so top 4 finish last season, this season only top 3 will do, no?

No it's called a re-structure and rebuild exercise, I realize between 4th and 6th will be a good season, as long as we keep building on that and be aiming for a League challenge within next few years.
Worst thing for us is to have knee-jerk reaction to a couple of bad results and sack another manager.

If/when Wenger leaves would you expect Arsenal to go 1 place better the next season or give the new manager time to adapt and build his team?

Not really heard AVB sing so I would say Rogers is better

Do you purposely spell his name wrong?

All depends if Wenger leaves, I would assume we have had a scouting mission over a year to find a perfect replacement, if indeed it was a sacking, then I would expect, the manager we got as replacement is better then the old (hence the sacking) and yes i would expect a better finish to the reason the old manager got sacked int he first place. Surely you can see the logic.

Gonzo - I don't see this as a straight forward sacking one guy to get someone better in, we have got a different manager with different philosophies.

I don't think Levy is expecting AVB to challenge top 3 this season, this is a consolidation year to start building next season, would be pointless me expecting top 3 if the board are happy with top 6 this season.

As long as long-term the club is moving in the right direction I am happy.

You make a valid point on Wenger, but if he went and you brought in a young manager capable of turning your team into League champions again (I don't think you are too far from challenging now) would you give a period of transition to allow him to settle in or expect instant improvement.

BTW I'm not spoiling for an argument was just trying to clarify my viewpoint that we have to give both BR and AVB time to adapt.

Off course, there is talk of Bould as a predecessor, and he indeed lacks experience at management let alone a premier league contender. if he was to take over, yes he would need time.

I cant see Wenger getting the sack either.

You have to remember that Wenger is the premier leagues second most successful manager behind Fergie, and finding a replacement isnt an easy task.

Gonzo - I was talking hypothetically, I would put my house on Wenger never being sacked by your board.

I agree when the time comes to replace Fergie or Wenger, this will be a very difficult task to find anyone who is able to compare with what these managers have given the clubs and fans
