L&P,im not saying you shouldn't be happy, and it is'nt my intention to upset you, or anyone else on these boards ,like you suggest it was a good win and a much improved performance wich could get us playing with more confidence ,but im affraid at this moment in time " i am not convinced. thats just my opinion.

Spearings looking like a great signing, my motm today.

Definitely improving performances, need a finisher next to ngog who played well but can't hit the target.

Mears was better than normal, mills and alonso both had good games

Great 3 points made extra special by being against the Wendies.

But Sweet Jesus, what's that kit all about?

its good to come back from a game feeling positive for a change.yes sheff wed were very poor but you can only beat what is in front of you.did fear late on conceding we were only a zat knight mistake away from handing them a point.only downside was the performance of ngog.as a striker he needs to be converting the chances that he is getting.he will get more chances at this level which will expose his lack of goalscoring ability a lot more than in the premier league.

Wanderers were very average IMO but nonetheless deserved the 3 points thanks to our inability to defend. I can't see you getting top 6 but you still have a quality side for the Championship. Good luck

Evening everyone!
Did not attend the match today but watched it on the tv.
I agree with Benny, take the three points but we were awful and Wednesday for a home side should be ashamed.
Great finish from Mavies, and I thought Andrews was effective and Spearing was a class above today. The back four again looks like a collection of strangers, real hard work needs to be implemented there chaps.

Their penalty was soft IMO ....otherwise we could have got that elusive clean sheet.

We looked the better team for the most part until the end of the game when we get knackered. But our head man never heard of the term "fresh legs"

Eagles yet again the MOM I thought. Rest of them did well. Mavies seemed to appear on the ball more often than usual and Spearing looks to be a decent signing. Alonso looks dodgy and SKD was invisible.

No doubt the same team for next Saturday.

It seems to suggest we win games if Eagles plays well. The reason he has never made it in the top flight is his erratic nature that he can be great one game and absent the next. If only Owen Coyle could organise a defence his job would not be under threat. He has his DM so no excuses.

Watching us at the moment is an awful experience,it really feels like I am watching a friendly. The defence again looks so disorganised it really scares me what quality opposition could do to us.
Think I would look into playing Andrews,Spearing and Warnock in a pack of three with Mavies and Lee ahead of them and one up the top, who? I dont know they all look like muppets.

Is Sordell injured?

I've heard it all now. We've won our first away game in 7 and we were 'awful'.

I won't suggest we are worldbeaters, but we certainly weren't awful. I thought very aspect of our game was much improved. Even the defence.

We kept the ball well. We created chances. We looked neat and tidy an we dominated possession.

im wondering myself about sordell.im not sure why afobe is ahead of him on the bench.it seems pointless grooming one of arsenals young players ahead of one of our own.maybe its cheaper to use afobe than sordell if rumours of ongoing apearance fees to watford are true.

Just like to say thanks to LH et al for the match thread. Away in Greece at the mo and couldn't get a match tv or radio feed at all, so comments today were great! Doesnt matter how we played as long as we got 3 points! The tough task comes in front of the Reebok massiv. I worry about the pressure the idiots put us under at home, but we can still do it. OWEN COYLES SUPER WHITE ARMY!!! #believe #keepthefaith

JAH - the irony is that the home fans have seen 7 points out of a possible 9 this season. The travelling fans have reason to be disappointed.

Although, last season it was the other way round

next 4 games 3 at home and 1 away at millwall all winable.no reason why we should not have 22 points from 11.

Other way round!!! Maybe on FIFA!!

We were guff!!! Not calm down CEF, it's one win... Don't have us getting into Europe before Christmas!!!

great win btw!!

MT - think you mis-understood my comment.

Did you mean 'now calm down'.

I am the calmest person on here, and you know that's true

I did mean Now yes!!

Calm is your middle name.. But then giddy is your surname....

Yes, but what did I say that was wrong in my comment??

Please enlighten grasshopper

Last season other way round...?

Just made me laugh... Like away, we were smashing teams apart... Hmmm..

For anyone that went today, how bad is that strip in the flesh..?! Looks terrible Liverpool in the 90s dull!!

6 wins away (better than we got under BSA in a number of seasons). Only a pathetic 4 wins at home. My point holds water!!!

The main point though was the home fans can't really complain so far this season, can they??

posted on 22/9/12

Don't let those straws fall on the floor...

You clutch them tight....!!!

Seemed alot of defeats and few draws though.. Wonder how the points measured up to BSA....

4th best away season during out 11 year stay. Thats by wins and points!!

You are taking the comment out of context if you think I am clutching at straws. Everyone goes on about how upset the home fans are this season and they will voice their concerns to such a degree that Garty will have to get rid of Coyle. But only a small %age of our fans have seen us lose this season.
