You'll draw your next game. It's eaasy to raise your game when your playing United. Liverpool can't motivate themselves to play well against 'smaller' teams.

Silly Shelvey
....

Nothing silly about winning a football

I think this is the reason why SAF generally goes for experience in Utd-Liverpool derbies. Occasion can get to young players sometimes and they end up costing the team.
Shelvey was already walking a tight rope after his prior tackles, i think it was his own fault for giving the referee no other choice but to send him off.

I am not ready to say we will go on a run just yet.

It is true that in the last few seasons generally we play better against the good teams.

Norwich next. They have no wins either.

If we go there, dominate and win, then I might start thinking we might have a run.

Lets see what happens.

Own fault for giving the referee no other choice? What choice does a two footed tackle give the referee? Well it certainly wasnt no other choice.

In fact you could say thst Shelvey had no other choice but to go in strongly when Evans went in with two feet.

Where do you people get your optimism from? I completely lost mine around about June.

"Where do you people get your optimism from? " Maybe they understand football better than you do, and can see the improvements that are taking place?

Why are people saying Shelvey went in two footed ?

Looked to me like only one foot (right) went in for the challenge.

Shelvey was a bit of a loose cannon yesterday, tackling left right and centre!

However RVP had studs up and jones had pure intent with his tackle... But what can we do now??

Optimism? What else can you have when you support a club? You have to have optimism. I'll support my club no matter how badly it does and I'll be optimistic about it, until I die.

-----------------------------------------------------------

4 wins in the last 21 league games. No other club in the top flight of the premiership has a record as poor as that.

If you are dominating games and still not winning then that really should get you worrying. What happens when you don't dominate a game?.You have defenders and a goalkeeper who can't keep a clean sheet,a strikeforce that will struggle to score more than a couple in a game and you have your manager killing the confidence of those players he doesn't fancy. These are players he may have to rely on in the months to come

Pool were the better team yesterday, no doubt, how Utd get that much of a rub of the green over a season blows my mind.

Suarez needs to start banging them in. Borrini has good movement, but he'll wanna sharpen up in front of goal too.

2 home losses early on is a blow, but there'll be easier opposition you'd think pool will take advantage of.

20 points in the PL in the whole of 2012.

Bolton managed 23

The better team is the winner. I can accept the odd match here and there going to the other way, but we have an absolutely abysmal record recently. I said right at the start of the season that things look bleak for us and I have been accused of being plastic, stupid and all sorts, but look at us now. I see no improvements and I see no spirit. We look like a club that has been very poorly handled and I have no problems admitting it.

Agree makar, the problems still remain,no goalscorers, flakey keeper, individual errors costing time and again.
I will stand by my original prediction that we have one of the toughest seasons ahead that i can ever remember in over 30 years of watching.
I'm extremely worried.

makar : "I see no improvements" Then you either don't have eyes, or don't have the brainpower to interpret what your eyes are seeing. Which is it?

Is 2 points from 15 improvement. Is having more possession than you opponents but losing the game an improvement. Is having to play kids with their raw enthusiasm to give your first team some much needed impetus improvement?

Is winning no trophies year after year improvement, Phil?

I'm disappointed in your predictable response their TOOR.

We wiil see how our respective seasons pan out.As far as I am concerned Liverpool have been weakend rather than strengthened since Brendans arrival. He has alienated senior players and has also imposed the style of play on your players too quickly for his own good. But I doth my cap to him,he still has the majority of you eating out of his hand, despite the fact you have not won a lgame in the league yet and it's October next week

posted on 24/9/12

Why are you disappointed? I asked you a serious question which when you answer, if you answer correctly will then make your point, like most of your points seem idiotic. But then we both know that's why you dodged the question don't we Pointless Phil?

We all knew that with a new manager, new style of play, a couple of new players and playing United, City and Arsenal in our first 5 games it'd be hard.

The next 3 games will give us a clearer idea of where were at. We appear to be the nearly men at the moment. We played well in 3 of the 5 games (United, City and Sunderland) but lack the confidence to take our chances.

It's still early days, but there have been signs of promise.
