It's all down to rankings winnings. Don't forget England are at the top of the rankings so in one group you had ranking 1 - England, 3 Sri Lanka, 5 NZ, 7, WI and in group 2 you had 2 SA, 4 Pak, 6 India, 8 Aus

It might be group of death but as the tournament goes on the pitches will get slower and turn more which will bring the spin induced teams into advantage.

Now I got it Kash. Thanks!

for me this is sad. I want to see pak and india in finals. But the chances of dat is 10%. this team is a grp of death. and both SA and Aus dont have a really big problem with spin,

The gd thing though is we are playing in presedanna. so ajmal ashwin and the spinners will love it.

The draw for the world cup had nothing to do with rankings I don't think kash. The draw was done last year, how would the ICC know what rankings would be at the time of the world cup?

All test nations were allocated a number. Initial group stages were drawn and then super 8s draw done at same time. It's purely random and 100 % fair in my opinion. Just so happens that we have been drawn in a group of death.

Anyways as pak fans, let's concentrate on tomorrow first. The equation is simple enough:

If we bat first, bengalis need to chase our total in 15.2 overs or they are out we are through

If we bat last, bengalis need to beat us by 37 runs orate to eliminate us 👍

Meant 37 runs or more

Afridi I thought that was good blag from me.

As for Bengis beating us, no chance.

Kash, for some reason I'm not as confident as you. It only takes my mate Tamim to have a blinder and we could be in all sorts of bother. Truth is we should have nailed new Zealand by 40+ runs yesterday, but gave far too many runs near the end. So have given captain Tamim a sniff.....

The fact that you have put hope in Tamim means he will do jack. The Bengis can't beat us in the full allocation of overs so how they are going to do it in less is virtually impossible.

Our problem is our pace bowlers who keep balling half vollies. They need to either ball full or back of a length. No point having Arafat in the team so might aswell play Razzaq.

Come on BANGLA BOYS!

Bet you weren't saying that when they booted you out of the Asia cup a few months back 👍

I don't think anyone is complaining about the groups, they are complaining that all the teams that won their groups will be in the same super 8 group, which is total bs.

Each super 8 group should have 2 winners and 2 runners up in it.

There WI selectors are complete jokers kash, I had DJ Bravo and they end up playing the other one

Duncan,

thanks for comprehending it to Afridi, apparently he is too lost in making calculations for tomorrow's Pakistan game we will win that comfortably mate! Bengalis can only beat ordinary teams like ... you know...

posted on 24/9/12

Fair point Duncan. But if you look at kashs woeful attempt to blag above he's actually made a good point in that if doesn't matter who the favourites are and if you actually look at thd rankings it's good a good mix in both groups .

Agree it would have be fairer as far as the whole competition goes, by doing a split between groups of winners and runners up. But ICC have done it this way do that fans know exactly where their respective teams will play in super 8s so can gets tickets and accomodation and plan ahead. I think ICC have it spot on

Pak India and Aussie fans should stop complaining, if you wanna win the damn thing, then beat the best and win it in style

Winning, but they have tameeeem

Wouldn't it be better to have these big games in the semis and final as opposed to in a second group stage?

posted on 24/9/12

Mate, any 4 of those teams vs Lanka or England in the semis are equally as big- do you not agree?? Personally think west indies will reach at least the last 4.

Well done skipper Gayle

No, in my opinion the big boys are the four in group one and England.

"Personally think west indies will reach at least the last 4."

Perhaps, but I don't think that they are one of the 4 best teams in the tournament.

Fair enough. The rankings and stats on subcontinent conditions concerning Lanka especially would disagree with you. But it's all about opinions 👍

Bengalis themselves don't trust him Afridi, but they do fear Jamshed. Better use your last remaining substitution for him buddy!

Do you really think Aus and WI are the 7th and 8th best T20 teams in the world, behind NZ.
