Colsaerts can play golf and has a personality! What a rare combination
Such an important point that. Colsaerts was seriously impressive........ten under! Europe need to think really seriously about who goes out tomorrow. Would be surprised to see Kaymer again until the singles and as for Lee.......I'm sure he'll make an appearance tomorrow but his game fell apart.
Feel bad for Kaymer
Colsaerts looks like he's going to be an important player for Europe this weekend.
My foursomes pairs:
Donald/Molinari
Poulter/ Hanson
Colsaerts/ Garcia
Mcilroy/ Mcdowell
getting a bit of a dicking right now.....
Nice one Kitty for the thread .
Igor - not a golfer myself, but very interested in most sports. No-one else had done a thread, so I thought 'what the heck'
I love golf, addict in fact and the Ryder cup really gets the juices flowing plus the forest game tomorrow
There's treatment for that Igor . . . . and the golf too
Hi guys,
Nice finding this thread. Well done OP.
Quite disappointing 1st day of Ryder Cup for Europe and even more so considering that at some point EU was up in all Foursomes games.
If on one hand I've been really impressed by Keegan Bradley and Colsaerts putting, and Watson/Simpson as a pair, I have been really let down by Westwood, Donald and even by McIlroy/McDowel partnership (they were lucky to win after letting slip a 3up lead and the less said about Fourballs the better). I didn't have high hopes on Kaymer and Garcia considering their form, and I don't even wanna get into Lawrie and Hanson. 6down after 8 holes?!...no further comment.
For today Foursomes, I think that Rose/Poulter will bring the first point for Europe but that will be a tight match as Simpson/Watson seemed to be on a roll yesterday. Still I believe that Poulter is a transformed player when in Ryder Cup, like a possesed man in a positive way and that will win it.
Mickelson/Bradley will win it for USA as Donald and Westwood both seem to be out of form.
Dufner/Johnson vs Colsaerts/Garcia I think will finish all square as the firsts are a good pair whereas if Garcia doesn't turns up again, then Colsaerts will have to carry him as he did with Westwood and is a bit unlikely that he will have such a great round as yesterday.
The last but not the least: Furyk/Snedeker v McDowell/ McIlroy I think will finish with the Americans winning it as the latter seem very inconsistent.
I do hope that I am wrong and Europe will win them all today.
Come on Europe, time to pull the finger out.
Good man Polts
Hard to see anything other than a bg thrashing from the americans here.
IMO the European pairings are all wrong.
Could be a thrashing and as the poster above has pointed out oldie has fu(ked up on the pairings
Out of all the players in theEuropean team the last two I would put together are Westwood and Donald, as both are all over the place with thier game at the moment.
Terrible decision by Olazabal in picking Westwood again. Playing awful.
To be fair, Olazabal had to play his 8 best players and 7 of them are out there with Colsaerts who played like a demon yesterday. Westwood is utter guff, though. There's blokes at a local Sunday medal with better short games.
Love Poulter's attitude, man comes alive in the Ryder Cup. Some close matches apart from the mauling that Westwood and Donald are getting.......need a bit of luck here to swing our way.
The only positive about the Westwood/Donald pairing is that no matter who we paired against Mickelson/Bradley we would lose so at least we have stronger pairings in the more winnable matches.
Wow, how bad actually is Westwood's putting? The bloke seems to think golf is played just from tee to green.

Westwood especially cannot appear in the fourballs. I like Lee and always wish him well but he is woefully out of form.
Man Colsarets!
Rose! It's all about putting and we're crap at it.
