Hult the pacey winger gives us the win in the second half. Physical stats, attacking positioning and dribbling are all he has One of only three pacey players in the squad (Martin Olsson and Kacaniklic the others)

Dos Santos missed a late sitter, Hansson with some good saves. Due a good result there

4-1 win at Elche, Postiga hat-trick, Bienvenu off the bench to score () We're in 4th, only 4 points off the leaders Real.

Roberto now rated 84. Crazy good.

Another perfect sliding tackle, another red card. Fack off. Ridiculous.

Guess I'll use up this financial takeover on a new career. Monaco me thinks, seems realistic for them to be up to their eyeballs in money. Will be fun for about...... 5 minutes like every new career/ team I've started recently.

Courtois is so hard to play against

Probably had one of the best goalkeeping performances I've ever seen on FIFA 13, you do have those games where none of your shots go in but Coirtois was saving those shots that in that split second between it leaving the players boot and going to the goal you are almost sure it's already a goal, ridiculous reactions.

Still won the match at least. Both goals were saves from Courtois that rebounded off players, Takabe and David Luix specifically.

I know, it's like you're not allowed to actually touch the other player in the tackle now.

So annoying that it happened two games in a row. Thankfully won the international anyway, although it was only a friendly (why couldn't I win the bloody qualifiers? ) but then lost the league game because of it.

They were both exactly the same. Went in from the side, got the ball perfectly, got a bit of the man too but not so much to warrant a red, and neither were in positions of any danger.

Bernard shoved a knife in my back (95 rated 28 y/o) and demanded a transfer, the board proceeded to sell him (75m to Real Madrid). Have replaced him with three midfielders who all have identical stats (95pace, short passing, four star skill and strong) which allow me to comprehensively dominate matches, so it's worked out well.

On another note, in terms of the in game gens, particularly youth team players does anyone else feel that FIFA randomly generates players without actually thinking about the stats suitability to the position. e.g. I have a left footed rwb from the academy with 5 star skill who has full ratings in all the mental attributes (including vision and attacking position) but who can't pass or tackle, still rated 81? A lot of the strikers generated also have very low pace with 98 reactions. I think they should have a look at this for the next game. you should also be able to develop players into a position. e.g. my rwb may not be the best defender but it is not inconceivable that a 17y/o with such stats could be moulded into a CM role.

Anyone else feel this way?

Sometimes I do ChaCha, but I like that variation it gives as well in a way. In real life not every player that comes out the academy as 16 ends up playing that position the rest of his career. Neither will every player that comes out have a perfect weaker foot etc.

I do agree about the sometimes crazy mental stats, I have found a few players, only the minority though, that will have 90+ mental stats but physical/technical stats that defy their quite high OVR, so they don't play as good as their OVR suggests.

My biggest gripe is what you mentioned before, said you bought 3 identical CPU regens in midfield, the regens should stop being all speedsters, having 80+ in physical stats really, would much prefer different types of players, slow target men, more withdrawn second strikers etc.

Anyway, I'm back with more international tournaments

2 years after my disappointing round 16 drop put against France with USA in the '20 World Cup, I'm now back for the Euros with a much stronger Italy team.

My group - The Swiss, Ireland..and the dreaded France. Here we go, first game against Switzerland.

I still have that striker dilemma between Balotelli and Insigne. Balotelli starting for this game. There's also new dark horse regen. Naturally is a speedster and acrobat, 84 OVr.

Instantly regretting it, with a big chance missed by Balotelli.

yeah I just won the world cup with italy, they have some decent players who develop well as the game progresses.

W.r.t. the gen players having good physical stats it is the case but it never seems to be the case with scouted players, only those bought in from other teams.

I have a few really exciting youth players who would be so much more dangerous if they idnt have 55 pace.

I think chemistry should be brought into the career mode, much like in UT. nationalities linking up better, and team unity i.e. not selling players season on season should create a better team chemistry. Would add another interesting aspect.
