Richie Wellens to Sheff Utd on Loan

I think it's a good move all round. Wellens needs match fitness and won't get in our team without injuries. Sheff Utd get a good player and we keep him fit if needed.

I don't think Gally or Wellens have a long term future at our club and they may well be sold if the right offer comes in.

It's a she for Wellens because he would have fitted in to our current midfield nicely if he was 4 years younger.

I would say that there isn’t much of a long term future for either player at the football club. In the short term I would have thought that it would be wholly dependant upon our luck with injuries.

Marshall, Knockaert and Dyer are all ahead of Gally and I wouldn’t be surprised if NP went to Waghorn before PG or even Nugent or Vardy in a slightly different formation. I think, however, that Ritchie may be slightly closer to the team. An injury to James or King and he’d be fighting for a place on the bench with Danns. I actually think he might be a useful player coming on to close out games in the sort of finishing role that Oakley played for us in the latter part of his career here.

Goodbye and thank you

I think this is a good thing. Wellens will be able to build up some match fitness and scouting reports will let us know whether he or Gally could still have a role to play.

I'd welcome either back if they were able to reproduce the best we've seen from them over the years. However, my suspicion is that one or both of them will be staying in Sheffield - and probably doing a very good job for them there.

Nev,

Aren't these players Pearson's so called favourites?

.... or not.

Any truth in the rumours circulating regarding Wellens, Danns & Gally regarding the Burton game?

Apologies.... that should read Beckford, Danns & Gally.

Looks like he's not going to the Blades after all. Seems they had a change of heart.

What rumours about the Burton game?

Stevie Synex - do you mean the rumour that they actually played fairly well? Tear are totally unstatiatef and totally unfounded!!!

But in all seriousness, what are these rumours you speak of?

I've not heard anything from an official source but I was told late this afternoon that the said three were involved in a spot of sporting entertainment regarding the Burton Albion cup result.

Like I said I'm not one to gossip but it would potentially explain one or two events of late. Thoughts?

Stevie - humour me. Do you mean betting on the outcome?

Or am I being naive or stupid?

Re Burton: this isn't the first I've heard of it - a friend mentioned it to me yesterday, she was at the boro game on Saturday and heard a little murmur about it on the coach.

Keeping an open mind but might explain danns' woeful performance

Mersey - I think your assumption is similar to what I have heard being suggested.

Am I missing something here or are some of you saying that the players mentioned above bet against us??
If that's true (and I really can't believe it is) then the players and probably the club will be in serious trouble with The FA.

Shepshedblue, I'm now a Shepshed blue too. I would be staggered, and disgusted if it's true, but you know how often a bit of conjecture can lead to a vicious rumour. People tend to believe what they want to believe.

Maybe Danns started the rumour to try and disguise the real reason he was so poor on the night. Lack of talent!

As I said guys this is something I was told earlier tonight and another poster on here has been told a similar story. No doubt if it was to be true then the brown stuff would really be hitting the fan in all directions but as with all rumours that is all it is whilst "nothing has been proved".

Hmmm.
It has puzzled me why the highlights of the Burton game have never appeared on the Foxes Player archive. I finally queried this last weekend, and was told that they would be up there in 24 to 36 hours.

I have no idea whether this has any bearing on this thread, which I hope very much indeed is anyway all surmise and nonsense. But it gave me pause.

This rumour was definitely doing the rounds at the Riverside. To me, it sounds about as preposterous as the "Mills nutted Pearson" rumour that was going around last season.

If it was true, these players would be far more than dropped - they'd be suspended without pay, possibly even fired outright, and facing criminal charges.

Stevie Synex - I don't know what's more of a mystery. Our players strung against themselves in a game, PR your own fear of stating that for fear of being sued or something?

Wait a minute, should I expect a law suit tomorrow?

Can I just say illedgedly? That always worked on have I got news for you!!!

BTW, the 'allegedly' business so beloved of HIGNFY is only really of any use if someone has been charged by police, a professional body or similar – something that you are allowed to report provided you make clear that it is an accusation, and not a known fact.

Thus "Dr De'ath will appear before the General Medical Council later today. The flamboyant surgeon allegedly turned up in the operating theatre drunk."

If you stick 'allegedly' after a libellous statement, you are still guilty of repeating a libel – the extra word offer you no legal protection. So saying "Robbie Savage is a sheep-sh@gger – allegedly" would be no safer than just saying "Robbie Savage is a sheep-sh@gger".

If I understood the 'she' correctly, there's no longer an end for me to stick the on!
