4 wins on the bounce, wow can't remember the last time that happened!!

January last year under Sven – so maybe we shouldn't get too carried away just yet. And yet this does feel a bit different...

Thats the good thing with big Nige, he won't allow ANYONE at the club to get carried away which is great! The players must be over flowing with confidence now.

Excellent stuff indeed.

It is always interesting to put an ear occasionally on the other side's commentary. Tonight this included comments from their equivalent to our own Youngy, saying eg "I thought Forest were quality, but these are the best I've seen. Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up...These are absolute quality...Clinical...King and Drinkwater bossed the game...Konchesky was outstanding".

I thought the after-match inverview with Konchesky was great fun, too.

Maybe Huddersfield's elevated position in the table reflects the fact that these are still early days in the season, and that
a short run of decent results can quickly boost a team to near the top. They sounded pretty awful on the radio commentary. But a win is a win, and away from home it's an even better win.

A lot of that was achieved with loan players and a few class ones including Yakubu and Naughton. I do think that Sven could have achieved a lot more with that team if he hadn't been so insistent on tinkering with the defence.

This time it's all our own work. It's more reliant on a team ethic rather than class from a few loan stars so feels more sustainable.

The only thing I really fear is injuries. We look light of quality cover in certain areas.

I think its a real statement of intent - I can't see many teams turning huddersfield over like that.

Knockeart sounds / looks class even on a windy Tuesday night in Yorkshire

Oh and remember when we last win 4 on the spin? We went on to win a 5th - what was the 5th? A home win v bristol city.

Pearson and Knockaert deserve a lot of credit tonight. Pearson's tactics were spot on and Knockaert was just a class above.

And finally I got to see Konchesky have a good game!!!

Not one player played badly tonight but this was helped by Pearson switching formation and attacking Hudd down the wings. It forced there wing backs back and they couldn't respond. Spot on Nige.

Quality.

Incidentally Leeds were awarded a penalty tonight against Bolton and I just had to check:

"49:04 Penalty awarded for a foul by Matt Mills on Samuel Byram."

This too is nice, from another BBC match report -

"Paul Gallagher's late winner handed Sheffield United victory at Hartlepool."

Did Knocks play in behind the front 2 again?

posted on 2/10/12

He played a fairly free role but I think he was supposed to be wide right in a 4-4-2.

To be honest with you, I struggled to work out our formation all night as our full backs were so far forward we looked 3-5-2 at times.

So in all honesty, I don't know!!

I do know he played well though!!!
