You get a lot of arguments about whose signings are better between rival fans. The only way you can justify those signings are from the performances they put in over the season. If we get back into the top 4 then we know we've done well.

Adam - Will add the creativity we have lacked in midfield since Alonso left. Regular Starter

Henderson - Will play alot of this year as Gerrards understudy. One for next season

Downing - Add width to the team, consistantly providing crosses, Will assist Carroll no end. Regular starter

yes probably from non liverpool fans. i think you'll find that most liverpool fans are currently satisfied.

Adam and Downing has stellar seasons for their clubs and I hope they will do the same at Liverpool. Henderson had a poor U-21 but showed great potential for Sunderland so I hope he can kick on. Doni is great cover for Pepe. Top four is realistic.

I'll reserve proper judgment until a few games in, once the players have settled. However, I think it's all progress, the biggest problem we've had for a few years hasn't been the 1st 11 but the backup players. We ran out of steam for the last few games last season because of injuries to key players and not having adequate players to replace them. I feel we have gone a considerable way towards addressing this issue now. I honestly believe top 4 will be the outcome this season.

I think what our signings have done have given us Strength in depth in the midfield. Its not so much of a crisis now, if Gerard gets injured, we have Adam, Meireles, Aqualani to step in. I also think Henderson will be given plenty of opportunities. Downing gives us a proper winger, granted nearly everyone wanted Mata more, but Downing is a solid palyer. In Adam we have another option for freekicks and a corner taker leaving Gerard back on the edge of the box where he belongs.

The squad is greatly improved and the first XI has slightly improved(if that makes sense).

Genuinely? Yep, happy with them all. Do think Hendo is a VERY expensive piece of business for what is ultimately a 'prospect' buy, but it's not my money, so not overly fussed. Think it'll pay off, long term.

Would like one more, though - preferably a LB.

I think that Doni is a good pick up by Liverpool he will prove to be a quality backup keeper, something Chelsea currently lacks... And has been lacking for a while. While I agree that Adam could be a good player I'm not to sure you guys have done right with Henderson and Downing, maybe Downing is a player who will flourish with a better supporting cast! But Henderson seems like a gamble for me with the money spent on him, yes he's a prospect but he seemed too inconsistent at Sunderland, though if all goes well he could be a solid player. What's all this talk about meireles leaving though?

Downing really is a great signing since we have Carroll, the price is ridiculous though. I don't want to sound like your typical delusional scouser, but I really think Downing will shine this season, especially with Andy Carroll in the box.

As for Henderson, I have no idea why we signed him. Yes, he's one for the future but I can't see him playing more than 10 league games in all honesty. People say he's a right-midfielder, he is, but chances are we'll be playing 4-3-3 this season.

Adam is a good squad addition, his passing ability is brilliant and I think he's better than Meireles, so he's an improvement.

We have taken a lot of stick for the signings, but i'd rather have Downing, Henderson and Adam (and Aquilani/Insua, back from loan) than no one.

And not a WUM in sight...

I'm happy and for the following reasons:

Doni as said is a good back up. Henderson, at 20, had the third highest amount of key passes in the league. If he can score a few moer then I'm sure he'll work out and he can play on the right also. To be honest I have not seen him play a lot.... just like the people who slate him!

Downing had a very very good season and has matured at Villa. He can play wide left or right and is a good crosser - LFC do not have this kind of player.

Adam did well last season and this is a big test for him but his range of passing will stretch teams and coupled with the added width that again could work well.

Statistically Downing and Adam had far far better and more productive seasons than Modric so I think that puts it into perspective. I'm not saying they're better but if Downing and Adam produce the same amount of assists and goals this season as they did last then we will finish top four.

I think Downing will be a fantastic signing for us and will bring the best out of Carroll, yes we over paid for them both but that's the way it is!

Adam I think has more creativity than Raul and cost next to nothing!

Henderson is the big gamble and one I hope pays off!

I like all the signings, even including Carroll. For me he has yet to shine. Everyone else is in the melting pot, lets wait and see. Hope your new manager does well. JimmyTheRed
