I remember last season, most of my mates we're trying to work out how he'd won 80 caps for Germany. I don't think they thought of the possibility that he might me a top-class defender. And now he's proving it, justifying my faith.
It's just a shame there are still a few idiots who play too much FIFA and claim he's crap because he's slow. In fact he's actually decent on FIFA, and excellent in real life.

Agger I'll give you. He's fantastic.
Vidic hasn't really played for year so you can't judge him. He makes a lot of mistakes too.
Terry was great. But if you don't rate Merte for a lack of pace, Terry is rapidly losing what little speed he had.
Luiz is a joke of a defender. Has all the tools but a terrible mentality, awful positioning, rash etc.
Cahill is decent, nothing more.
Skrtel is good but not fantastic, he's a bit overrated IMO. Lacks composure on the ball, some people only rate him highly because he looks like a murderer.
Koscielny is very good of course, I trust Per more than him though.
Kompany I'll give you.
Lescott is so limited and make mistakes, no chance.
Coloccini has had 1 good season. Per has been quality for years.

Only seen him once for Spurs, tbh, but he was very poor defensively and should have been punished more than once.

I hate this World Class tag that is bounded around - everyone seems to have different definitions of what it means. Per is a top centre back though, the calming presence he brings to our back line is invaluable.
A world class player is usually someone who would get into a world 11 squad.
Frankly our last truly world class player was Cesc. Maybe RVP for a year.
