He was arrested on suspicion of 'Common assault'....
This is the least offensive of all the other assault charges,
i.e Actual Bodily Harm & Greavious Bodily Harm, these are serious assault charges that carry custodial sentances...
Common assault is when a person verbally threatens violence to another person, but can include the accused person putting their arms on the threatened person....But by no means is this an assault......
Never the less, there is never any excuse to even mildly abuse any of the emergency services, especially female paramedics, who are working unsociable hours in all weather conditions, and who are only out there to help us, so I hope this is all a big mistake, cos if it isn't, Hammill can 'do one' cos we don't need that type of person at our club
Frank
What would you think if one of our player were running round the streets at 5 o'clock in the morning, pisted out of his head and viciously beating up women in the street.
Not only a women but a defenceless paramedic
Sicking how they are defending him
wtf ... look what kind of club signs a player who assaults kids that are watching a football match on a saturday afternoon???

There is no smoke without fire. Here are a few excerpts from the Daily Mail.
But as the female paramedic tried to help him it was claimed she was 'assaulted'.
Dave Kitchin, from the North West Ambulance Service, said: 'The Trust can confirm that an ambulance crew attended an incident on Temple Court in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning and one of our staff was the victim of an assault.
'Despite my many years working for the ambulance service, I still find it difficult to comprehend why an individual would set out to injure someone who is there to help and treat them.'
It seems to me, that Hammill was in need of medical attention and for whatever reason, 'assaulted' the female paramedic. Paramedics don't make these kind of allegations up! They are professional people who do a fantastic job. Unlike footballers, who most definitely do not live in the real world!
If Hammill is found guilty, Town should void his contract and he should be sent to jail, as punishment. I would expect that the next update to this ugly incident brings about my suggestion. I don't think he is an innocent!
This could be something simple. Stupid and regrettable, but simple. Maybe the lad had gotten ridiculously shedded (all been there) and decided to use the pavement as a bed. Someone calls the medics fearing he's badly injured and as they've tried to bring him round he has lashed out, unaware of his bearings, and struck the paramedic?
That's just one possible scenario off the top of my head and I've only been up ten minutes.
What I'm trying to say is there are so many possibilities that until the facts emerge nobody can really pass judgement.
However, if he has been out if order, then he has to go back to Wolves, no question. Regardless of his obvious talent.
Lets wait for the facts.
Yeah lets wait for the facts. I dont jezz over paper talk myself.

I wouldnt mind striking someone right now cas ill not mention names
Le@ds is just a rugby town!
a few police officer mates of mine are very unimpressed with the "ambulance service" of late.. appears they will "stand off" from almost any incident if there has been any report of even an argument taking place, never mind any actual violence..
They will then wait for the police to attend, sometimes not even setting off from their base until the police are "on scene", they can get out of their "response time " responsibility just by putting on their log that they "had" to await police response..
They do claim "assaults" over the most minor of contacts or verbals with patients and are quite happy to call the police in when dealing with very elderly people who are a bit "aggressive" or even "upset" due to dementia etc..
One of my mates was also told the other night by the fire service that they only attend road traffic accidents if someone is trapped, this was after being told one car was smoking and there was a load of fluid all over the road???
It does appear that the police are actually the only emergency service left, the others have strict criteria which may endanger yours and my life???
Drunks attacking the emergency services should be identified and have their "right" to emergency service response removed, we wouldnt have to do it more than a couple of times..
I await the "facts" on hammill before making any judgement..it could be from the sublime to the ridiculous..
Anyone else frustrated that its Hammill that is accused? I mean, why couldn't it be Gobern? Or Robinson?
Always seems to be the lads who can actually play a bit that get into bother.
Next thing we'll hear is that Vaughan is harbouring WMDs and Southern has built a Fritzl-esque torture cellar...
gobern wouldnt have got close to either paramedic.. in fact he wouldnt actually have been anywhere near where something was going on.. same as when he is playing.. anonymous...
robinson would have turned up late when everyone was gone and done a sliding tackle from the wrong side on the early morning street cleaner!!!!!!
