I agree. It could be a blessing in disguise. Watching Keane at the Euros was heartbreaking: constantly getting caught offside, strolling around the pitch, obviously knackered.

Fate is intervening and forcing trap to pick better players. The notion that Robbie Keane at his stage in career is a better option up front as a loan striker over Shane long who actually plays as a loan striker in the premiership shows why Trap is ridiculously past it and not fit to do the job. At least having long gives a fighting chance rather than past it Robbie!! We ll inevitably improve despite of trap not because of him. Total liability, needs getting rid of the old goat ASAP....
Yeah long is surprisingly strong and puts himself about a bit and we need someone like that to put the German centre backs under pressure. Long is well able to hold the ball up and pretty good in the air. If we start with the likes of McShane and Keane we will get trounced. If we can nick a draw (big if) it would be a brilliant result.
