Sorry, I'm failing too see whether you actually have a point here. If you think Robinho was a nobody when we bought him, you are again confirming my belief that football probably isn't your first, or even second sport. The transfer was a statement of intent by our owners, his move to the PL didn't work out, but hey, all teams have their fair share of flop signings.
--------------------------------------------------------
Errrm you were the one claiming Robinho wasn't a top player when you signed him. I simply questioned whether you spend £30m+ for players who aren't.
Statement of intent? More like a player desperate to leave so was willing to sign for anyone. Like saying Newcastle United showed a statement of intent when they signed Michael Owen from Real Madrid. Anyway, rumours are Robinho thought he was signing for United until he got to your ground. Wanted out from that moment lol.
Not trying to use it as a stick to beat you with at all. The OP made a comment, I made a reply, in which I said "unless I am mistaken", according to you I am mistaken. But do I care? No not really, the amount of trophies you have won vs Liverpool interests me about as much as acquiring a case of the pubic lice.
You've had a scan through and I've been shown up time and time again? Try reading instead of scanning then, the only 'United fan' other than yourself I have spoken to on this thread is NNNNNineteen, and even other reds have said he's a halfwit, good try anyway lad.

Not interested but still decided to make a post about how many trophies each had one. Listen to yourself man, you're gibbering!
I didn't say he wasn't a top player when we signed him, I said when you look at our squad over the past few seasons he isn't up there as one of our best players. Wow, the OP can't even read properly, yet I am supposedly one of the 'Jeremy Kyle Nation'...
"Anyway, rumours are Robinho thought he was signing for United until he got to your ground."
Oh please, did you by any chance used to have your own column in the News Of The World?
You used factually incorrect information to downplay Manchester United, and when proven wrong you furiously backtracked trying to say that you weren't interested anyway? Christ, are all city fans this stupid?
... I'm not interested, but you made a comment and I replied to it. That is how conversation works, whether you are interested in the said conversation or not.
So why bring up him being a top player at all. All I pointed out was that you are driving players to leave the country. We're not talking about regular transfers here, we're talking about players desperate to leave and making it known everywhere.
I can't help it if you "can't even read properly". Try to learn to read perhaps?
You brought Robinho up as a top player for us
He was a household name when we signed him, but looking at our squad over the past few years he is not up there as one of our top players, is that really hard to understand or something?
Liverpool main rivals blah blah - maybe you should try actually reading instead of skimming and you might understand what I actually said. Your boy made a comment about how fantastic you are and how many trophies you have won (wow never heard that from a red before...) I made a reply, as you do in conversation, according to you I was wrong, but as I said in the initial comment, and as you would see if you tried actually reading the thread instead of 'skimming', you would see that there and then I said I had no interest in the topic of United v Liverpool and trophies won. So no, I haven't changed what I said or backtracked.
... By the way, other than Tevez (who also 'desperately' wanted to leave you), name these players that we are 'driving to leave the country', and identify how many of them were first team regulars or had a peripheral role in the squad. Thanks.
At least City fans do not put on balaclavas and go round to the homes of players to threaten summary execution if they leave.

lol once again you're making it up as you go along, just like trophies won by Liverpool and United. Go back and learn to read ffs, you're being embarrassed. I never said he was a top player for you
It's clear that most of the players who come to you do so because you're a cash cow or as a shop window to move to a recognised top european club. I really don't understand why you're getting so worked up over this?

Is that why you're still banging on about it, trying to justify yourself?
Yes, you did.
"Robinho, Tevez, Jo all wanting desperately to flee the wastelands. So much so they want to leave the country. If that isn't a poor indictment of Citeh's status amongst the best players, I don't know what is."
Or have I misread that due to my illiteracy?
I'm not getting worked up, I'm simply correcting you because you are ill informed. Bar Tevez, the only players that have left our club in the past few seasons are the ones that have been pushed out of the squad due to us bringing in better players. Eg Jo, Robinho, Benjani, Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Wayne Bridge, Given etc etc.
Of these players, name one that has gone on to become a key player in a bigger team than the PL third placers and FA Cup winners.
You are saying key players want to leave us because we are an 'amateur club', but the only players that have left are the ones not getting first team football, which explains why they have moved on, not because we are an 'amateur club'. Do you understand yet?
I don't need to justify myself, I made one comment and you are the one that keeps 'banging on about it', to the point you bring another monkey mate rag in to help you out. I made my original comment and I haven't changed my opinion or what I said once, if that's me trying to justify myself in your eyes then fair enough.

Well clearly you have, unless you can highlight where exactly I've said he was a top player for you?
The rest of your post seems to just be making stuff up to argue about. Is this a common trend with you, don't read (or understand) what the other person is saying so just make something up to argue about? When have I said they went on to become key players?
Listen let me spell it out for you. Players come to you for the money, but soon realise money's not enough to stay at your club, for whatever reason, and want to leave. Others will come to your club because you're a shop window to a recognised top club in europe. Thats the two points I've made. This is the status of Citeh amongst the best players. The money is the attraction for over-rated/over-priced players like Milner and Barry.
Anyway any chance you'll sell Tevez or shall we tune in to the next instalment of this comedy drama in January?
Right here:
"If that isn't a poor indictment of Citeh's status amongst the best players, I don't know what is."
You name Tevez, Jo and Robinho, and then say their desire to leave is a "poor indictment of Citeh's status amongst the best players". If that isn't you saying Robinho and Jo are our 'best players' I obviously don't understand the English language very well. Apparently I'm the one who backtracks and changes what I say though...
Players like Barry and Milner probably were overpriced, as are most players these days, but when they moved to us they both said it was because they wanted to win things, which they have done, and in that time, their previous club has not.
The only point you have made is that 'our key players all join for the money and then leave', yeah I get it, but you have so far failed to name a single key player, bar Tevez (who also wanted and did leave you lot) who has done this.
So basically you've made a point and completely failed to back it up with any evidence, leading me to come to the conclusion that you probably write a column in a red top paper.

Thank you for admitting it. That's the first sensible thing you've said. I suggest you re-read my previous post to understand. Still don't understand where you're getting "our" from seeing as I said "status among..". It's not really difficult to understand but as I said, read my previous post to this.
Once again you seem to be making up your own arguments. Why are you now saying "key players"? I've mentioned a number of players already so the point stands. Adebayor, Petrov, Bellamy are others. Once again, the point is players are desperate to leave. At least Chelsea could hold on to their players when RA bought them. I didn't see players making noises to leave, regardless of whether they were "key" or not.
You haven't mentioned a number of players at all, but now you do, Adebayor, Petrov, Bellamy, Jo and Robinho all became surplus to requirements, some no longer important players for us, some never were, and so moved on, none of them, to better things. So how is that "a poor indictment of Citeh's status amongst the best players," It's not like Kompany, De Jong and Silva have all suddenly come out in the press and expressed a desire to leave the club, then maybe I would agree with you saying 'our key players want to leave us'.
The trouble for City are the ridiculous wages. They obviously have to offer them to bribe people to come to them. The trouble is who would want to pay those wages when players moan about wanting out? Even if Atletico agreed to take Tevez, could they afford the heavy wages. It's a sad state of affairs.
The other point is that Aguero wants the move to Real Madrid but that isn't going to happen from Atletico because of the rivalry. So he'll go to City for a season before making noises to leave....and guess who'll come in to buy him.
Even with the Balotelli, he was dilly dallying, trying to stretch the deal out because he was hoping United would come in for him. When he finally realised that wasn't going to happen he signed for Citeh. How long before he starts moaning about leaving. Wouldn't exactly be surprising would it.
