No-one can say FSG werent/are not willing to splash the cash as Kenny spent a whole heap of money on that garbage.
My view is that FSG blew all that money in the hope Kenny would get us in the top 4. That was clearly a pre-requisite for them. Top 4 or c ya. Kenny couldnt manage it so he's out. I dont know whether they are prepared to blow another 100m so soon. They have clearly back tracked on the wild spending we saw when they first came in. Truth is, we need another 100m to get us in the top 4.
Phil, You are better off concerning yourself with how broke Bill Kenshite is and and less about Liverpool.

Commercial deals and cutting of the wagebill where the priorities of FSG,what happens on the field is a distant second,FSG are H&G only with money in the bank and not money owed to the bank
----------
That doesn't really work in anything but the short term though, over time the commercial deals aren't as lucrative as they don't pay so much for mid table teams, what you've described is a pretty sure fire method of scre wing a business over.
The strikers and wage bill are two separate issues
-------------------------------------------
How can you say that when the players we let go to reduce the wage bill - Maxi, Kuyt, Bellamy, Carroll, Maxi - were strikers, or players who chipped in with a few goals?
I personally don't think 'we dropped the ball' covers it. Losing so many forwards without replacing them, and the resulting lack of goals, was either a huge blunder or the predictable direct consequence of putting the balance sheet above all else. Fortunately the kids have stepped up to an extent but they're not scoring goals and that's the only thing that will help us win games.

Thanks for your considered contribution it is much appreciated.
Doesn't change the fact that the figures I gave are pretty much on the money and your owners would in the short and midterm be much better off tightening the purse strings and say they are building for the future rather than splashing the cash and spending more on players and wages than the return they would get on their outlay.
Everton FC owners are skint and I know it,what are your owners going to do to return you to champions league football??

They have spent nowhere near 100m. In real terms they have spent less than half that amount.

Apparently your commercial deal with Warrior was not dependent on either league position or Champions league football
Yes Phil, we still hold some clout as a large club believe it or not, however that dwindles each year we finish mid-table.
I'm sure deep down you actually understand this.

I do understand this, but are your current owners in it for the long term or will they look at using Liverpool as a cash source to fund their failing baseball club in the short term

They're probably in it for the mid term, although with all the hassle that seems to come with this club these day I wouldn't blame them were they to scarper.
The're interested in money, always have been, always will be.
Red sox first, liverpool a distant second.
And ian ayre is useless left in charge.

Baseball first,"soccer" secondary.
Exactly. FSG are being clever, they will pay CL wages when Liverpool are in the Cl, they will spend CL earned revenue when Liverpool are in the CL.
How about this for starters, Oussama Assaidi, Joe Allen and Fabio Borini combined earn less than Aquilani did. Liverpool were grossly mismanaged at the top, and FSG are eliminating the mistakes that were made.
FSG overall job is to increase revenue and reduce expenditure. They've done quite a job, Liverpool are doing better commercially than they ever have.
When the FFP rules are in place, they will be one of the strongest clubs in the premiership. Chelsea and City will be hamstrung, Arsenal well managed but don't have the global power Liverpool posess and Manchester United, good commercially but hamstrung by interest repayments.
Liverpool will ensure that they will be able to compete.

That is an absolutely massive leap of faith.
My guess is that any smart accountant will be able to drive a ten tonne truck through loopholes that will exist IF the FFP is ever implemented.
All those players were on 75k plus a week and not one was first choice.

Yes, but apart from AC, they had fairly decent scoring stats and AC was starting to show some promise. Did we have to get rid of them all at once? It seems to be revolution rather than evolution in everything we do.
I have accused them of deception and owning a business I would expect them to take profit out as they are businessmen after all.I'd say those fans who believe that FSG will continue owning Liverpool and plough every penny they earn in profit back on buying players lve in cloud cuckooland.Profit will be spent on increasing the value of their investment or taken out to repay of their initial investment costs.
