Claudio Ranieri has won more games at WHL than AVB has as a manager.

Billy Nicholson won more games at Stamford Bridge than any chalsea manager of his era as well, tht won`t change either, so what`s your point. Although Chelsea were in the second division for a fair bit of Bill`s time.

Wearethefamousthfc.....

Back to the original article, I was given a similar book a few years back, I like the reports on the 1901 and 1921 cups finals best. Excellent read.

Im not even going to bother responding to Sandy now because this thread has been derailed enough as it is.

What i will say is looking back i wish Chelsea decided to ignore the FA and entered the European cup after winning the title in 55, makes me wonder how different things would have been and after seeing videos of Cooke, Ossie and Tambling i wish i was around in the 60's too

Tottenham were robbed in 62 in the european cup semi final and our story could of been much bigger

Apologies Weare - this was (is) a good article! I'll have to stop myself from being 'Reeled in'!

Can't find ny references to a Chelsea one though.

I do have a hard back book 'Chelsea FC - The Official Biography', which is a fine read detailing the Club from just before they were formed!

I see, the girl in smiths said they had them beforebut couldn't find them listed under books. She told me to pop in in the week and see their magazine lady. Fingers crossed. She beilieves they tend to get them in December and they sell out pretty quick.

Valencia's supposed to be a nice City Weare - is it worth a visit?

I have an appartment about 4/5 hours drive south of there!

The bit I best like about the Chelsea history, is when Buster Bates had to put up an electrified fence up to keep the c.h.a.vs. neandrathals under control. All 20 of them at the time.

Big clubs do not put up electrified fences to keep their own supporters under control
==================
I understand Levey is having a swimming pool with a 10meter board put into the 18yrd box to accommodate Bale!

Massic leccy bill, and no magnets strong enough to stop the meter spinning.

No wonder they nearly went bust in the 80s.

While Bates was a his no tolerance attitude to hooliganism was spot on. If you want to get onto the pitch it's going to hurt you first !!
