SQUAD IS TOO SMALL

We only made two subs though.

There is a rumour we are trialling either a Franchman or a Brazilian and there is another rumour Lowe is going to Tranmere on loan.

I also wonder if the building work is impinging on the money available, but don't tell you know who.

I don't think Lowe would be a great loss as he does not score goals either, but it would be one less in the squad.

I cannot beleive that Jabo and Flanagan whent out on loan.

Lets hope we don't leave it to late to get players in place to push for auto promo, I am not sure I could stand another playoff disaster.

Robbo should look at the MK Dons Web site, then he may have a clue where his problems are, according to the Web Site there are 3 strikers, he is probably counting Ian Wright and maybe he moved so he counted him twice.

But looking at the web site, it does show how badly he did in the transfer window (from a balanced side point of view). He has 2 Goal Keepers, 6 defenders (well 5 plus Ostembor), 3 strikers and 8 midfielders. This explains why MK Dons always ave the majority of possession but score so few goals.

Robinson keeps saying we have "Quality rather than Quantity" but I fail to see these "quality" players, we have a few quality for the 1st division players but we do NOT have quality throughout the team.

Our forward line and scoring midfielders are very average. Midfield defensive and holding players are good.

This combination plainly does NOT win matches, get some quality players in attack and players out wide with pace who can cross the ball.

Come on the fans know what we need if Robinson does not know then he is NOT the manager he thinks he is.

I still don't think we miss Jabo, the fact Colchester are interested and he's playing well for them at the bottom of the League sums up he's not good enough for us no more.

I seen Ryan Lowe at the train station today with a few bags so it's about as good as done, but as much as I like him it won't be a loss if he only went on a months loan.
I thought Charlie played well yesterday so maybe thje impact sub role would be good for him for the next few games to get his confidence up!

I think we're worrying too much, granted there's reason for debate but I think when (And it's a big when) we have the fully fit squad around I reckon we'll be sound! We do need Flanagan back mind!

By the way, a striker who can't score doesn't make him a midfielder if he plays up front, just makes him a non goalscoring striker...Which is also billhooks and proves he's not doing his job properly

My comment about strikers and midfielders was based on Robinsons comment about there being four strikers on field, he may think they are strikers but I don't see any goals that makes them midfielders in my eye.

Your other comment about having a fully fit squad does not hold water as we have had a fully fit squad and we still did not score goals.

I think we are doing a lot of huffing and puffing and thats about it.

I don't think just because Lowe has a few bags at MK train station means he is going. After a Sunday game he is probably going home for a few days.

I do hope we can get a striker, but I also think the final ball hasn't been good enough. Bowditch made a pass where he should have slotted into the penalty area (similar to position to Powell's over hit pass at Coventry) but it went behind the players, while many ball was over hit on Sunday.

I've been reading about the power of positive thinking. It's mostly rubbish - but you feel a bit better until the last minute when it all goes to pieces.

I have been saying for at least a season and a half that MK Dons need an out and out striker. Too many opposition managers praise the way the team play - which is really saying "Thank Goodness they can't score for toffees"

I really am not sure what Ian Wright is doing. Does he get paid a salary?

If so would that salary not be better paid to a couple of up and coming strikers from the Blue Square.

The squad is small, but you have to remember we have players out on loan.
Ibhere wasnt looking good for us yet has done well for Colchester, and Flannagan has been getting game time at Gillingham, Baldock has also been playing most weeks.
We will struggle to get auto promotion unless we can get a goal scorer, Smith, Lowe or McDonald do not appear to be the answer.
My biggest worry is that we are having plenty of corners, yet make nothing from them, and also we have no one who can take a free kick.
Other than Powell we have no pace in attack or equally in defence.
i still dont understand how we have players out on loan yet cant call them back.

Robinson is now saying Lowe can't go to Tranmere but he could go somewhere else if he gets another striker, so he will still only hve 3 to chose from.

The fact remains that out of the 15 ponts available from the games MK Dons have played against teams in the top half of the league, they have only manged 3 points.

The next 2 games against Stevenage and Crawley are crucial.

It looks like we are having difficult getting a work permit for the triallist. I hate to think the players going out of loan are knee jerk reactions. There seems to be a lack of strategy.

I think there is a strategy but it is the wrong one, it works against the weaker (in terms of defence) teams but the stronger ones just let the midfield have the ball until they are fed up with it.

I know Robbo likes the passing game, but he must realise that unless there is someone to finish the move with a decent shot on goal its all fairly poinless.

I was referring to a transfer policy Bill.

I don't understand why we buy a 34 year old who is just like another striker we have and who is then offered on loan. I think Winkie & the team need to plan a bit who their target are, how to get them and what is the fall back position (and I don't mean on the pitch).

I also can't help thinking that every time a player throws a tantrum when not being picked he is given a ride out of Dodge.

posted on 16/10/12

I should also add: how they fit into the team, what is their unique talent, their potential, fitness and how they react to not playing

Having looked at all the comments on my original artical it would appear that most would say that we "LACK PACE" in attack and defence.

We have not had anyone since Dyer from Ince's first spell in charge, it begs the question "Are there NO players out there" or "Do they NOT want to come to the Dons"

I am sure Robinson knows what he needs, if he doesn't know he should not be our manager.

I am sure he does so it MUST be the scouts who are NOT getting the sesults.

My answer is either Mcloud or Donaldson.
Both have pace, Izale misses lots of chances but with the amount of chances we can create he should still score plenty of goals, I am not saying he is brilliant but what we have at the moment isnt working.
Not sure how Donaldsons situation stands or how much he would cost.
This isnt a new problem its about 4 years in the making.
Tranmere are scoring plenty of goals where did they get their strikers, also a guy at Port Vale is getting plenty of goals and Kedwell of Gillingham, although this could be tricky as I think he played for AFCW.
Perhaps we need a bigger named coach that Ian Wright to attract strikers , think he scored the odd goal for Arsenal.

Some rumours seem to indicate Jonathan Forte as a ptential striker - but it feels like having moved Jabo out on loan and looks like Lowe will be heading out on loan (Bury latest rumour - from top to bottom) we are going to be getting at least one new striker and quite possibly two......intersting end to the week

It defies all logic to have 4 strikers and have 2 of them out on loan - especially with the lack of goals.
