such as?

Well, all of it really.
He speculated, he got burnt. He was never in it for the club, it was purely for the dosh. Didnt we all say that at the time? He risked none of his own cash and bailed.

The non-payment of PAYE - yeah, i got where he was coming from. The BTC was meant to report back and it hadnt. As a result he couldnt get additional funding/credit facilities so he started stalling on payments and spiralled into further debt. The same thing happens to thousands of people every day. (Still doesnt make what he did right though)

D&P - in it up to their necks. We've been saying that for months.

Authorities - knew all about the problems at an early stage. Again, with how they performed over the past few months, this doesnt surprise me at all.

Ticketus - Spot on. Its not uncommon to borrow against future income. Exactly what he did.

Did he lie? Well, not really. He just didnt tell all of the truth.

Did he bring Green to the party? Of course he did. He found someone willing to give him money to part with his shares.

All this criminal actions mallarkey? Utter nonsense. He would have been done by now.

You might want to hold fire on your last comment. The investigation is only about to start.

Chalky's pretty good at telling part of the truth.

Q: "Did you mortgage the season tickets?"

A: "No" (but he sold them in advance).

Q: "There are rumours we're going into admin next week. Are they true?"

A: "No, that's ridiculous" (it's the week after).

And so on.

Into what though? I think the key part of whats ahead will be the investigation into D&Ps agreement to sell the old club/company (or however we want to describe it) for 5 million folding fun tokens. Just an opinion, but BDO will be all over that like a cheap Sports Direct tracksuit.

Just seen a snippet of the interview, rabbit caught in the headlights springs to mind.

posted on 17/10/12

BDO have said their focus will be on the people who used to run the club.

Blue - yeah, true I suppose but he was only telling you, the support, what you wanted to hear,

Unlike Chuck Green of course.

Blue, BDO will look at that deal. Have no doubts whatsoever.

I agree with the OP that what Whyte said was probably true but put in a way that makes him look okay and everyone else look bad. Lying by omission.

My biggest take from the interview is when he became coy about how much he made from Rangers. Did D&P sell cheap to Charlie so he could give a kickback to Whyte?

He also stated that the previous board had been taking insolvency advice, first time I have heard that.

RB, yeah, that was a telling point. It was the only question he dodged and i think that says it all really.

Whyte could have made money from Rangers in a number of ways. I seriously doubt he will be get anything more from Green.

posted on 17/10/12

I doubt he needs to. Chuckles has already parted with the cash I think.

The one thing I did agree with Whyte was that Scottish Football, courtesy of this saga and SFA/SPL/SFL ineptitude, is most definitely the laughing stock of world football. If they keep Avril in a job then we may as well give up.

Son of the Rock,

I think you are on the wrong lines with that.

You think D&P sold artificially cheap. Yet they have a duty to get the best return for the creditors. It was in the public domain that Green was paying about £5m, anyone that was willing to pay more only had to put in a bid.

For D&P to expose themselves and be open for a multi million lawsuit would be daft for the return they got.

posted on 17/10/12

And that, as you know Mitre, is something that BDO will thoroughly investigate.
Lets not forget, higher bids did come in but at the very moment that the CVA was rejected the deal with Green was announced as done. I think most creditors would rather have seen a higher return to be fair.

If Green was buying the club that cheap someone else would have come in and outbid him after the CVA rejection. Or if such bids were excluded or rejected we'd have heard a lot about it from the potential bidders concerned.

What, you mean like Walter Smiths consortium?
I seem to remember they did complain. In fact, I seem to remember a campaign by the Rangers support to force Chuckles to sell.
Was it really that long ago that no one remembers?

Look, the club was sold to Green who was the only one who had the readies, ready.

All the others had conditions left, right & centre, and nett lower amounts.

As to the OP - believe him all you will.

But for me, when he said I did not lie, I just didn't tell the truth - that was it.

He makes Walter Mitty look amateur. He is, allegedly, a liar, a thief and a shyster.

Hopefully, his alleged criminal acts catch up with him very shortly.

In my opinion, which admittedly is not that of the law, hes not gonna swing for it, hell be in the clear. Dont forget, this is a man with huuuge experience in wrecking companies. He'll be in the clear one way or another.

Dont forget, Im not defending the man. I think hes a abasolute shyster but these type of bampots usually operate just inside the realms of the law.

That's my guess as well, that Whyte won't go to jail or anything like that. Maybe another disqualification as a director? Just a guess though.

He's trying to paint D&P in a bad light and though there may be an element of truth in it, HE was the cant that forced them through the door before HMRC appointed someone...

HE brought them to Rangers.

The mans a prized cant, pure and simple.
He cant shirt the blame onto anyone and everyone else like he's tried to do all along
