Wenger took a surprising course of action. “He tried to pull the plug on the Giroud deal to sign Lopez instead,” a source close to the situation has told Goal.com. “But by then it was too late and the Giroud transfer had already been signed off.”

Goal.com make up nice BS. Giroud was wanted by Wenger, everyone knew that, so why would he try and stop the deal? Also by sounds of it, Adrian may come in Jan.

How do you know hes awful pete
Simone has done alot of rotation this season & we all know how awesome Falcao is this minute so i really dont expect Adrian to have much playing time.

Peterbaey, you're mistaken. Adrián's a very good player, just not an out-and-out goalscorer.
he's a talented player, who has lost form and confidence of late...stemming from spain's woeful olympic performance in which adrian missed a whole load of sitters !
he'll be back though.
last season he's quality goals and assists were a huge part of atleti's europa league triumph
Stats don't tell the whole story, it's true that he's been off-form this season, but last season he was amazing. I love his technique with the ball and his off-ball movement. He will get back into form one day, and you'll love him, that's if you watch him.
