I fear they'll be little change at Chelsea, our pensioners will stay, and we will be lucky to get 4th.
Have faith!
While we can't rely on players like Anelka/Malouda week in, week out, they are excellent squad players to have. Remember, less than two years ago nobody on this board would have dared to give them such dogs abuse!
Yes, they are older and slower, but surely not THAT much..?
Squad players shouldn't be sulking fairweather players on big salaries. I'd much rather Sturridge and McEachran were given opportunities off the bench, than the likes of Anelka and Malouda.
I agree with the OP, he's been a great player for us so if he wants to stay for one more year let him.
Personally, I'd prefer to cash in on him but as long he doesn't halt the development of Sturridge (and possibly Lukaku) then he's be a great asset to have in reserve, especially if Torres continues to misfire this season
Sell him, useless and frustrating when he plays and slows the game down.
worst case scenario is he stays and holds back the new strikers... which is probably what will happen!
