If so I'd play Kagawa instead of Welbeck and sub Kagawa off for Young later in the game.

sorry!
-ve: We are still leaking goals.
+ve: We have managed to overturn and early goal four times this season in the Premier League and did the same thing in their last Champions League match.
Also I can see Rooney and RVP starting then exiting at 70 mins since we're playing on Tuesday and the next PL match is Sunday...
Must secure all three points
As much as I'd love to see Wooton + Buttner start, think we need to have a solid defence to try and secure a clean sheet here and try and build from it.
Can see an argument for starting one *or* the other though
Evra isn't travelling so Buttner will start.
Don't trust De Gea or Rafael (although De Gea might be a bit safer against an Iberian team than he will ever be in the PL).
Without Evra there is too much potential for both flanks to be vulnerable. If Buttner is playing - and he may turn out to be a good LB - then just to make sure the other flank is covered better than Rafael ever will then enybody else will do in that position. With the possible exception of Nani (the only player in the squad who might make a worse RB).
Get it right defensively, then the forwards can do their job.
I would alway suggest the strongest XI so that would be (injuries allowing):
Lindegaard
Jones/Smalling
Rio/Smalling
Jones/Evans
Evra/Buttner
(too difficult to call really)
Midfield and forwards should be (but probably won't be):
Nani/Valencia
Carrick
Rooney
Andersen
Kagawa
A striker (probably the dutch one)
Lindegaard
Rafael Smalling Evans Buttner
Anderson Fletcher
Welbeck Kagawa Young
Hernandez
Fletcher will play defensive midfielder tonight
Anderson, Cleverley Kagawa ahead
VCD that sounds like a statement, do you know something we don't?
'me' - Does this guy ever stop?!
Sorry I meant to say I "think" Fletcher will start
It would make sense, Carrick rested for weekend.
'me' - Does this guy ever stop?!

His posts are ridiculous.
I think both nani and Kagawa need minutes to get to their best. Anderson definately needs a game and Hernandez deserves them as he's been very good when he's had the oppurtunity. So I think possibly:
Fletcher Anderson
Nani Rooney Kagawa
Hernandez
Young definately to feature at some point.
Defensively LB looks like Buttner. RB Rafael is the only real option. CBs I don't know. GK, I dont have a clue how SAF picks them

same agenda every time - it's pathetic
There was a player ratings thread a couple of weeks back and he came on to mark the players
They all got 6 or above apart from the DeGea Rafael and RVP, who all got 4s
Most people had made Rafael MOTM because he had been excellent in the game.
He moaned like hell last season that we needed a goal scoring centre forward despite Rooney scoring 100 goals in in the 3 previous seasons
We sign the golden boot winner in RVP and he claims he is not the answer
We now have the top two goal scorers from last season and he still says we haven't got a goal scoring centre forward, this despite RVP oozing class and already topping this season's golden boot race
Laughable
Vindicated once again.
Both goals conceded started off from moves made on MUFC's right (Rafael's position) and De Gea was flapping as per.
When these two are gone from the club (unless Rafael stays as a right wing backup squad player) will you all apologise?
I thought not.
Don't get me wrong, I dont want to be right all the time about these two but I can't ignore the evidence as so many of the contributors on here seem, over prepared, to do.
Both of them strike me as nice people, and I wouldn't want to wish anyone to lose their job. But this is not the club for running charitable work experience programs. Success depends upon it. Rafaels brother has found his level at QPR. These other two need to do the same.
Me
You are in no way vindicated.
Trying to blame Rafael and DeGea is utterly laughable. He was not to blame for either goal
Oh, even if Rafael had had a poor game, you would still not be vindicated given he has been excellent for United this season. Claiming vindication on 1 game would be utterly pathetic anyway
Furthermore, we are the highest goal scorers in the PL. How does that sit with your stupid obsession with us needing a goal scoring forward?
Gonna apologise for being wrong yourself?
(Yes, I did notice your silly little 'probably the dutchman' comment)
You need to grow up

The thing is just a moron. He/she has an agenda and will blame anything on those they don't like because admitting they're wrong is just too hard. Rafael has been universally accepted as being our most consistent player this season and has been playing very well. Some things in football cannot be disputed, and Rafael's form is one of those things. 'me' conveniently ignores the great tackles - most in the squad, by the way - great covering, aerial duels won, link up play with the rest of the team and his general enthusiasm and work rate. If he/she hasn't seen these things then he's either blind or a bit dim. And to blame De Gea for the goals conceded is just lunacy. Been watching too much Space Jam.

Opinions are what these sites are all about but that is just what they are.
Evidence and life experience is often ignored (and 'ignore' has the same semantic root as 'ignorant'. Ignoring my wisdom is anybody's choice.
Rafael is simply not a MUFC standard RB. He weakens the defence and puts pressure on those in front of him (often that is Valencia or Nani - neither of whom are as effective as when he is not playing).
Rafael may make a long term winger at the club but nothing more - unless of course SAF and MUFC wants to give up on success. And that is unlikely.
De Gea is one of the worst GKs in the league. In all seriousness which current EPL manager would replace their current number 1 with De Gea? That's right, none of them. He is a clown, and that is a sad indictment of a club that has any ambition.
If I was overlooked in my place of work for someone that is less able or qualified than me, then I would have to seriously consider my future at that employer.
Lindegaard is not the best in the world (by a long way), but he is far better than the alternative. He has been put in an awful position by SAF. He may just go, then the club will be in serious trouble.
I love the club, and have done for over 40 years. I will not sit by and watch second best be accepted. You may. That is just your age (probably).
Bye now.
Fack off and jump off a cliff you bell.
