we were always going to miss him.
But i still feel it was right to let him go.
Or it would've been if we'd signed a striker.............
Flash....
I agree it was the right thing to do, and still feel that way, but God we could do with him now to help us get out of our CL group.
He will always be missed, for me he is our all time greatest player, no question, he delivers when it mattered.
But it was his time to move on,
We would be a better side with him over Torres.
Qualification still in our hands.
Chelseamf..............
It is actually in our hands even if we lose again To Shaktar, but it would mean we would have to beat Juve at their place
But we really do not want to have to go to Juve needing to win, that was the same situation City found themselves in last season when they went to Napoli

I agree we could do with him. What do you think should be the minimum expectation for the Champions League this season?
I think Quarters. Because I do think Jose is gonna become a 3 time winner of the Champions League this season.
I hope not but there's people out there that say if he wins it this season, that he'll be back at the Bridge come July.
Of course we miss Drogba, he´s probably our greatest ever player.
But I wouldn´t want him at Chelsea this season. His time is over unfortunately and he left at exactly the right time.
If we could turn back the clock and have an in his prime Drogba again I would bite your hand off but we can´t.
Move on.
The champs are struggling. Yep you sure miss that drogba boy, who pretty much carried you last season in CL. Though cech and Ashley also played big parts but Drogba was the man! he's the reason why I wanted chelsea to win
Flash........
Realistically I will setlle for just getting out of the group now. I think we can only finish 2nd though which means we would have a 1 in 3 chance of facing either Barca or Real Madrid in the last 16.
We do not have the team or style of play to beat either of these teams this time round, so last 16 will do me, anything more a bonus
We do not have the team or style of play to beat either of these teams this time round, so last 16 will do me, anything more a bonus
-------------------------------------------------------
We were never going to win the CL this season, especially with this new team in transition playing a new style of play.
What matters this season is the Premiership and at the very least consolodating ourselves in the top four which up until now we are doing well.
drogba was more prolific in later rounds, it was usually anelka who got us through the group stage
We had to beat Valencia in the group stage and it was Drogba who single handedly destroyed them last season.
"We were never going to win the CL this season."
Be careful same thing was said last season...
I do think we will top the group(yes we will beat Shakhtar at home) and progress to the last 8 at least.
Just wait for the addition(s) in January...
makes me sick things like this. We're on a decent run and everyone is happy, we lose a game because of two bad errors against a decent side, in their back yard and all of a sudden the "we need this" "we miss him" brigade are out in force.
Trust me not many teams will be going to donestsk and winning. We'll be fine.
I don't know why it makes you sick. The article is not critical of the team in anyway but it just points outs that we are in a situation where we could do with the big man to bail us out as he has done on so many times before.
There are plenty of negative article out there and i would say your post should be in response to those but not this article.
mate, its nothing personal I know there are countless articles slagging the team off. But where does the "we could do with so and so back" stuff end.
Might as well say, we could have done with Franco Zola up top or Mark Hughes, perhaps Osgood, cos lets face it they would all be preferable to the current CF.
Personally I just dont see the point in pining for players that have left.
Lets not go over board and say we were played off the park, as we werent we played poorly and they were good nothing more.
Its not pining as I said it was the right decision to let him go, but we are in one of those situations where the man more than often bailed us out and this time round we do not have that player.
We now have to beat Shaktar and draw at Juventus to control our own destiny or lose to Shaktar and beat Juventus.
It is the time we need big players and in Torres we probably do not have the man for the occasion.
Personally i think they did play us off the park. They were better than us in every area of the pitch, even their keeper was very good.
If you watch that game again you will see that they created enough chances to comfortably score 5 or 6 goals................they absolutely thrashed us just as Athletico did in the Super Cup.
They are a very good team on this form, can they keep it up? Only time will tell.
