Just thinking that, stonewall for me. What point in the game was that? He really is a donkey
They just did a little analysis of him; donkey is an understatement when describing Luiz. He will slot in nicely at barce next to the likes of Busquets though
Don't forget about Cahill manhandling Evans in the penalty area, too. We had two stone wall penalties denied and Torres should have walked in the first half. Clattenberg had a shocker today. The only things he got right were sending Ivanovic and Torres off. Mikel was lucky to be on the pitch also. He must have committed the same foul about 10 times.
His hands should've been behind him, regardless of how close you cannot have your hands stretched out like that in the penatly box. Hansen who was a fine defender in his day even attest to this.
I wouldn't say stonewall, but his arms were in an "unnatural" position, so I guess technically its a pen. But refs don't usually give them when the ball is fired at pace from such a close distance.
enjoy ur win but thanks to the ref
It is only handball when a player DELIBERATELY handles the ball by moving his arm towards it. I'm not even being controversial, look at the rule book.
99% of handballs given are not handball offences.
Maradona, that's handball. The Luiz incident, and most others? I challenge anyone to prove that was a penalty using only the Laws if the Game as defence. It can't be done.
I dont understand what makes David Luiz most suited for the CB position?

So defneders can just run around their own penalty box with their arms in the air like a starfish and provided they dont move their hands towards the ball, it isnt an offence
Put your little face palm smileys all you want. Read the rulebook.
Unless a player deliberately seeks to gain an advantage by moving his arm towards the ball, then it is NOT handball.
The players can go out and do the "YMCA" if they like. Unless they seek to gain an advantage by deliberately handling the ball, it isn't handball.
There's probably a PDF on the Farce Association website where you can check it out.....
.....or you can just be ignorant and use smileys to try and belittle someone telling you a truth you don't want to hear.
chelsea got penalties like this against us. one on carrick come to mind from 1yd distance of ball to hand jut in box.
Ironically terry handled at the bridge in 2010 and lampard handled at OT in may 2011 but none were given. Anyway whenever we play chelsea we are unlucky. Today finally a ref had the balls to send off a chelsea player. How many times have they committed red card offences and got away with it against us?
His hands were in an un natural position thus should have been a penalty.

You are wrong on this one I think (and correct me with evidence if I am wrong). The laws state that a "deliberate hanball" should be punished, but do not say what consititutes a "deliberate handball". Most referees go by the rule that if a player's hand is in an unnatural position (which Luiz's was), its a handball. So no, they cannot do the YMCA and get away with it.
In Fifa's Laws of the Game 2005, Law 12 says a free-kick or penalty will be awarded if a player "handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)".
Page 67 of the document gives "additional information for referees, assistant referees and fourth officials".
It adds: "Referees are reminded that deliberately handling the ball is normally punished only by a direct free-kick or penalty kick if the offence occurred inside the penalty area.
"A caution or dismissal is not normally required."
However, the document fails to describe what constitutes deliberate handball, which places the responsibility firmly on the referee and referees' assistants.
Former Premier League referee David Elleray said the referee's interpretation depends on whether the hand or arm is in an "unnatural" position at the point of contact.
David Elleray consults his assistant during a club
Referees often consult their assistants on decisions
"Referees look at two specifics - did the hand or arm go towards the ball or in a manner which would block the ball, or is the hand in a position where it would not normally be?" Elleray told BBC Sport.
you guys will dig up all this stuff to make your point but apart from the 3 points there are more to say after MC officiating

Well no, as I said earlier, I dont think it was a stonewall pen. In fact, I probably would have been very annoyed had that have been given against United, simply due to the speed of the ball and the distance (or lack of) it travelled.
I just "dug up all this stuff" in a discussion about handballs with someone who was clearly misinformed.
his hands were down you clown go eat bird crapppppes
How was this game fair? 90% of sport lovers said the ref was one sided despite U guys claiming that this person should have been sent off earlier, U won but its a disgrace the ref mess our game up so I can;t blame u guys but saying u deserved to win is pure bull5hite top of the league, we aint got no worries
Never a hand ball. Tony fired the ball low which in turn ricochets off Luiz's boot onto his hand!

United fans are doing plenty of crying rather than crowing over their "well earned" victory at SB. Very weird.
They have been given in the past for sure but very harshly and wrongly in my opinion. Your choice of language ‘stone-wall’ is quite telling in that you are deluding yourself. You could make an argument (you’d still be wrong) but you’ve decided to steam roll in which just stinks of someone who isn’t looking subjectively. Reverse the rolls and I know you would have a different view.
Luiz hand did not move to the ball, it was static, Valencia was about two yards away and struck the ball with power. Valencia is a professional footballer who knows how to cross, in my opinion he fired the ball at Luiz with the intention of claiming for a pen.
That really is not a pen and certainly no stone-wall. I can’t actually believe the number of comments from those convince themselves that you have been hard done by over the years, you get far, far more decisions that any other club and the reaction when the odd one doesn’t go your way is so disproportionate. You’ve been spoilt by the major rub of the green. When I hear Fergie complain sometimes that he didn’t get enough injury time I actually feel embarrassed for him but he knows what he is doing. He’s a smart guy and knows he needs to keep the protests up with a straight face.
Your team took their chances yesterday and came away with an excellent three points, I think we’d have won the game with a flawless ref but that’s football unfortunately. Just be pleased with the win and don’t delude your self.
