City as a whole haven't got into there stride yet. Mancinis being too negative and they have replaced some decent players with some tripe.
Silva is still without question top drawer.
have replaced some decent players with some tripe.
Like who?
Top 5 players in the world
Silva's good but he's unreliable believe it or not. Goes through patches of dreadful form every few months
Yeah last season he looked a class apart. Toure is you main boy now like.
Are you speaking of de Jong/Garcia?
Garcia has also been injured, hardly had a chance to show anything yet.
So ironic that City are going through a rough patch of injuries whereas United have nearly got a full squad fit
Ability wise Silva is certainly one of the best, not top 5 but that's by the by.
His form seems to be the only problem. Great first half of the season last year and then was pretty average.
He's yet to show a high level of consistency in my opinion. Very on and off.
I'd still take him in a heart beat though.
Yet they're level on points.
I don't see any irony however x
Silva is world class and was arguably Spain's best player when they won the Euros despite the fact he's been carrying a foot injury since last Winter. The fact the Real Madrid fans gave him a stabding ovation during the CL game is testimony to that.
So ironic that City are going through a rough patch of injuries whereas United have nearly got a full squad fit
The irony being we're on level points and still unbeaten.
This time last year your squad was fit, ours was falling apart with injuries. It's not an insult or a put down, just making a point. Shows the depth of both sides that they're still top 3 right now.
Or Adam Johnson / Sinclair?
Sinclair has not had much time yet to show anything and Johnson is hardly pulling trees up at Sunderland.
Boris, are you sure they weren't giving Joe Hart a standing ovation? That would make more sense. Silva was pretty quiet in that game.
Best player this season so far is between RVP and Mata imo. Silva is quality though, just needs to regain form and obviously get uninjured first. How old is Silva ??
I'd agree with that Oscar. I was just saying on a different thread that Mata has been the best in England this season. Great player. His form has been better than Silva's since he arrived in England, even though I do think Silva is the better footballer.
He seems to be thriving and rising to the occassion every time Darren, in the big games he is constantly putting performance after performance, makes me wonder how much better he would look and his assists record would look if we had a decent striker hope to god we get Falcao in January .
And yeh i agree, Silva seems to be more of a complete footballer / skillful footballer but does go quiet sometimes and can be inconsistent at times, after feb his form dipped quite a lot and then he bounced back in the euros but then started the season off meh and now his injured atm
I'd agree with that. If Chelsea do get Falcao it won't be until the summer. Atletico said he isn't going anywhere in Jan I believe.
Chelsea's attack would be frightening if you get him.
Hmm you never know though, if we make that offer they might be forced to accept it. Although as it stands they are still joint 1st in the league mainly due to Falcao so i'd imagine they would want to keep him untill the summer so they can try get themselves into the CL ( hope they do ), but say we offered Torres + £££ i think they might accept it in January.
And knowing our luck we'll ruin him mate Na in all honesty though i'd rather have him in January so he can have 5 months then a pre season / summer etc to bed him into the team for the season after so we can launch serious attacks on the league and other competitions
I saw an interview where they said he's going nowhere in Jan, but may be forced to sell him next season.
If they keep their form up they could potentially be in the mix for the league, unlikely but would love to see it.
I think it then comes down to you and City competing for him.
Of course would be better for you getting him in Jan, I just think it's extremely unlikely.
Silva got his ovation due to his achievements for Spain. In the 10/11 season Iniesta was treated like a hero everywhere Barca went domestically (his tribute to the late Daniel Jarque even made him a hero amongst Espanyol supporters).
Sounds reasonable, Always, because he was pretty cràp against Madrid so don't see why he'd get that reaction.
Liverpool said the same with Torres though and countless other scenarios, if the moneys on the table they may be forced to take it, Atletico need the money. 9 times out of 10 Roman gets his man and i suspect his patience with Torres has worn thin and after witnessing first hand Falcao absouletely destroying us i doubt he'll want to let City even get a sniff of signing him, we'll see though. Can see whoever losing out on him going for Cavani.
And same i'd love them too challenge for the league, they're doing great
