Player power!

How is it that only players from the 'top teams' are making these allegations? Is it coincidence that players from these teams are most likely to petition the ref?
It's enough to put me off my breakfast.

I agree with RED666,

You are not accusing Ramires and Mikel of lieing, are u?

@ Scribe
I honestly feel your pain, and that must have been awful.

But MC is also accused of insulting Mata, so i honestly doubt 2 Chelsea players of different races and cultures would make it up just cos they lost, that's almost absurd!

Until we have some corroboration from another player, pref a white player from the rival team, then we don't know whether it's lies or tactical exaggeration.
Just like when players dive or feign terrible injury.

3 stars because who really knows at this stage what was actually said?

abuse on a daily basis? im black and get none of this, and to be honest i dont really care. People over react to racism generally, calling mikel a 'monkey' is no worse than calling a ginger person 'carrot top'. But if Clattenburg really was abusive, he should be dismissed. I just cant believe he would be so unproffesional
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't experience it on a daily basis either, nor do I beleive the OP. I don't believe he is a Chelsea fan let alone black but that is just my opinion.

Really? Are you suggesting that a black mans word is unreliable, I am sure that is not what you mean but it's how it can be percieved by some.

That aside, in the case of Terry no white or black person from either side, non of the officials were required to have heard anything either. Despite being found not guilty due to lack of clear evidence in a court of law Terry was found guilty by the fa on the grounds of pobability based on prior behaviour.

If the FA are consitant then Clattenburg, who has "form" is in trouble.

This is a pity as I do not want to be dicussing this, personally for me the ref had a bad game, he isn't the first and he won't be the last. I'd be more than happy to put Sundays game behind me and move on rather than have to put up with all this drivel.

No, are saying my opinion reflects that I'm calling them liars??

This guy can't be serious.

JFDI, you're right, I didn't mean to suggest that.
But footballers have been known to exaggerate offences to gain an advantage...
As for Terry, it's appalling that he should be punished for circumstantial evidence alone. Don't get me wrong, I loathe the guy and suspect he may indeed be guilty as charged. But that's my personal prejudice, and would hate judgements to be based upon same.
If the ref in question did use genuinely offensive language, then this is unacceptable and deeply unprofessional. But it has to be verified by independent witnesses, in statements taken at the time, or else it's just gamesmanship.

I agree with you.

I know you didn't mean anything by your original post but sadly this is how easy it is to be found wanting when it comes to being politically correct these days.

Mikel did not report anything, he was told by another Chelsea player that Clattenburg had said something

Absolutely agree your point here. Regardless of outcome of the match any abuse had to be reported as soon as possible. The fact that the abuse is said to come from the main match official makes it all the more imperative.
Warnock 's comments earlier to the media saying "Chelsea would not have have the report had they lost" is ridiculous and typical of the "little" man who made it.

I wouldve thought that was rather obvious.

I want him sacked. You know how it feels to be racially abused? The sooner he gets sacked the better for football. I'm fed with all this.

Wiwa I know you get abused everyday but you're physically gifted so don't let them walk over you and fight your way through when it gets tough. Be strong. Be strong.
