Why should it be a problem?
===
because he used it to antagonise the crowd, i have no issue with players blessing themself, hell big amo did it often enough as captain.
you turn it around and ask what you all got in alther when gazza mimicked playing a musical instrument ffs!
This wasnt before KO
He is going to collect the ball during the game and used a sign of faith as a wind up.
It should wind folk up.
But it does,,,, sad as it is...
We have an insult to faith then we have a go at the reaction that the act was deliberately looking for.
Yes he does it some time before KO at the start and after HT.
Only he forgets sometimes though never against us.
He was always more devout when playing us for some reason.
The guy's a fat has-been.
Always been an unhinged brat, thank God Scottish football is rid of him. England's problem now
Curly, if you take that approach, then by your logic, we should not hold silence, memorials etc at football games.
Fortunately, the game does not exist in a social vacuum, but for the fans, who come from all faiths and none, from a broad political spectrum, and different socio-economic backgrounds.

Zach I was using that as an example of football supporters hypocrisy in being wound up by someone blessing themselves.

Why should it antagonise anyone? Unless they have some hatred before hand?
Iv already used that example of Gazza and said in that instance it was just banter eh?
"Would you say the same thing to Kayal whilst he does his prayer before ko? "

Does he pray on the pitch before the game? . Never seen him do it but aye, I would probably shout "Get up ya daft clown, it's all a pile of p ish!"
Muslim's praying on the park before kick off, heard it all now

It shouldnt, but we know it does.
So that make it ok then does it?
If you ban people from blessing themselves in public, you make it a radical gesture. Bit by bit you push it to the margins, authorise beliefs that it is somehow subversive.
This is highly offensive to a Catholic.
You would not stand for being told to hide your sexuality these days, or the colour of your skin.
The same should apply to your faith.
Loved when Gazza done that

Dont think he assumes the position papa Think he just points to the sky and says his prayer. Doesnt seem to be a problem for rangers fans previously though? Maybe its just blessing yourself that does it

So you should run about a football park randomly belssing yourself whilst smirking to the opposing fans?
Get a grip FFS!
It was solely to antagonise people and, although it shouldn't, it does...
Personally I thought his flag thing that he done was pretty funny but the religious stuff is just a recipe for disaster in Glasgow.
Unless it's Gazza coz he told me it wasn't a proddy flute he was playing, he tapped it off Atheist

Nobody is asking you to respect him for his religious preference. However people shouldnt go off their nut when they exercise their religion in public.

however if you take the time during a football (note during not before or at HT) game to use the sign to wind up people..... WHO YOU AIM TO WIND UP.
This does not offend for some reason infact some say its ok to use the sign to wind folk up ....then complain when people get wound up

I see Chuman. Gutted . Would be feckin hilarious if he had his foreheed on the turf!
Players doing it when they come onto the field or doing it when they score is fine with me. Doing it as a deliberate wind-up is still fine with me but it's really stupid and ill-informed in a derby match like the Old Firm with the bile it's steeped in. Very silly move and if you think he was well within his rights to celebrate his faith at that moment in time, yer aff yer heed
Faith is not a lifestyle choice zach, what a load of keech.
Difficult for you to understand, I say that genuinely, no offence meant.
If you truly have faith, you don't have a choice.
And you can't lecture others on the authenticity or otherwise of their faith.
chuman
countless players have come to ibrox and blessed themselves, said a prayer, whatever, even our own players.
never have any of these players used their religion as a weapon in an attempt to antagonise , except of course boruc
why is that?
He blessed himself before every game.
They made a big deal over it FFS,it was like going back to their auld policy
And you can't lecture others on the authenticity or otherwise of their faith.
===
yes you can and plenty do.
Authenticity of faith is questioned all the time.
Duke, Boruc did it before every game.
Why should he revert to doing it when he's told, so as not to offend others?
And again, why the offence? Sheesh
