Why would Chelsea be punished ?
This is just pure bile from supporters of rival clubs (some not even rivals but just bitter and jealous)

Two employees of Chelsea FC reported that they had been racially abused ..... as their employers they submitted a complaint on their employees behalf to the relevant authorities

In reality they could not have acted in any other way as defined in their duty of care to their employees

Just from people who don't want to believe a Chelsea player could ever be a victim of abuse as that doesn't fit with their bias.

I actually am with CFC on this matter.
If Clattenberg has used racist words, no matter how harmless they sound he should not be allowed to ref again ever.

However, it seems neither Mikel nor Mata or Torres heard any racial slurs from the ref but Ramires and Luiz.
All this just sounds so implausible!!!!

But again, if Clattenberg has used any racial slurs he should never step foot inside any football stadium.

I find it strange Mikel would find the term, 'you cheeky monkey' racist, unless of course he has a poor grasp of the language of course, in which case it should have been explained to him.

As for the 'Spanish t**t' remark, in my experience players say a lot worse to officials, and each other in fact.

When players respect officials, only then can try expect the same sort of respect in return. But I don't believe it a second, with what has recently gone in, a racist term would have been used

Evening Lads

From a outsider I seen the game on Sunday I think your were hard done by, Utd are deffo getting the rub of the green at the moment.

But as for the ref I am not saying he didn't do this but surley if he did then the other officials would have heard it, but the same time this ref doesn't have the best track record, either way if found guilty he should be treated the same as if it was a player

Anyway think your manager is doing a great job

@ Fisherman THudd

I have been in a similar situation at work were I had an argument with a lady collegue, I was mad(fuming) and I walked away and the following morning I got a call to the directiors office as he apologised for the conduct of the female collegue.I was shocked when he told me that other collehgues heard her lower her tone and hurl racist insult.

I didnt get mad and confront her but it does happen that things can be said, the intended victim wont hear it but those around can, and are offended and go forward and make a complaint.

I've seen lots of conflicting reports on it, some say it was Mikel who heard it, some it was Luiz and Ramires.
I think we should wait and see til the reports come out see whats true or not.

I actually dont think Clattenburg could be racist just as much as John Terry or Suarez but if like Terry and Suarez before him, he has used uttered racial terms then he is a public nuisance, an idiot and should not be allowed to be a ref again.

Personally other than the racism accusation his performance was enough to not make him fit to ref a game.Doubt spurs fans will feel any sympathy for him, just like Everton fans and recently City fans have complained aswell.

He is not worth the effort.

I'am sure you (& others on here) would have done a much better job on Sunday, you are a ref arn't you?

Try it.

I honestly think that footballers have become trigger happy with the racism card (sorry for mixing metaphors!).

They can get sympathy for themselves and get someone else in trouble. I think Chelsea players may want revenge for past events, giving back a bit of the medicine they've had, but this will backfire for them.

Chelsea won't be punished, but won't come up smelling of roses either.

@ oldnewtonheath

why do you care, he is an elite ref but he is not as good as some refs who arent part of the elite branch. He was stopped from reffing Everton games for 5 years, then there was the Gomes and Nani fiasco, City fans have complained in recent weeks aswell then Sunday.

Before we even get to racism he isnt a good ref at all.

@ ireallylikechristmas
care to tell us how it will back fire because they have the sympathy vote based on what actually happened in the match before we heard the inappropriate language charge.

Look I also think match attending chelsea fans have mis behaved a lot recently from the game at Wembly and booing Rio but which club wouldnt stick by their man?

Liverpool did the same with Suarez and united would have bood Cole even after the hand shake.Lets not delude our selves.

If no evidence is found as I expect probably will happen Clattenburg is the biggest loser in my opinion.I can see a few top managers asking not to have Clattenburg assigned fotr their fixtures.

Fair points, he is a poor official, as are most kn the English game. They all fail to command any respect, only Howard Webb seems to have control of the games he is in charge of.

When you watch Spanish football, the referees are a lot stronger and nip the players moaning in the bud.

As for the racism accusations, I suppose I am no position to comment as I wasn't there and know him personally. I guess we have to trust the people jin change to do what's right following an investigation.
