Relishing this cup tie - for once I can comfortably get to an evening game in time for kickoff from work
In theory, this should be a comfortable win like our psf's away at St.Neots, who are in the same league as Cambridge City and beat them 5-0 at City in their league tie earlier this season.
However, we only beat City 1-0 last time in the cup, and this time round they will be no pushover either, especially in front of a sell-out crowd and the tv cameras.
As long as we put out a strong back four, I reckon we can keep a clean sheet though, and then it's down to how adventurous Robbo wants to be.
Like McMaccer, I would love to see two up front for this game, especially as four in midfield should be enough to hold their own against City, but I don't anticipate any major changes in formation from Robbo.
But if City score first, then it's game on and anything could happen.
Can't wait for Friday night. COYD!
Lowe starts but not MacDonald (flu), while Chadders have been made Captain, due to his links with Cambridge and Chicko left midfield / wing, which is what the fans have asked for.
Robinson has confirmed the following as the starting XI for Friday's game:
-----------------Martin-----------------
--Otsemobor--Kay--Williams--Lewington--
-----------Gleeson------Potter-----------
--O'Shea-----Chadwick(c)-----Chicksen--
------------------Lowe------------------
Sorry Maccer didn't realised you had put the team up.
0-0 I reckon (well it worked for the Scunny game)
Always hopeful - so I think Dons win will 3-0.
Chadwick to score all of them...
I put a predicted team, Furz! I was gonna say Chicksen left wing but I thought about the many times when us as fans have said things should happen and they hadn't -.-
So if Chico scores, are we on the pitch?
A hard fought 0 - 0 ...well done for holding out.
Spot on Bill.
Enjoyed our evening over at Cambridge City - a very friendly club with superb facilities in comparison with somewhere like Peatboghorror's decrepid & derelict hole of a wasteground, for example.
Zac Barrett deservedly MOTM following numerous heroic saves in an entertaining cup tie.
Could you try predicting 2-2 again for the replay please, Bill?
At least you stood a chance of getting a result there as apposed to being at London Road.
