Allardyce was a master of not picking players based on sentiment. He picked them on there contribution. Someone who "just" scores goals, isnt a contributor
MT, I see you are still persevering with the old BB10 line. Whatever turns you on I guess. As for Managers, I think all the 2 Lancashire and 1 Greater Manchester B clubs (you started it) are into the great unknown. All 3 have gone for basically untried managers with not much to choose between Dyche and Freedman. Both limited experience with average Champs teams. Palace look good this season so Freedman must fancy his chances of winning promotion, otherwise why leave CP.
Burnley have no money but no debts and SD will have to work with what hes got. Austin is on fire and will be sold in January and the defence is dire. Mid table at best.
As for the Chicken Farmers, it is obvious that whoever is Manager is irrelevant as the problem lies with the owners. Venkys running a football club is a bit like me becoming a brain surgeon. Berg inherits team in 5th position and should have no problem getting to the play offs at least, however if he fails.......then what.

That depends on how many they "just" score, surely?
If N'gog suddenly hit form and "just" scored 35 goals this season but never tackled anybody or did anything else he'd have to be in the team every week wouldn't he?

No problem MT. I think DF and SD will be ok. The Chicken Berger is a huge gamble IMO. I will be surprised if any of the 3 teams are promoted or relegated.
