Old Trafford Is Within Greater Manchester

Why respond to that?

City fans drone on and on and on about our location, because that's all they can do.

United and City are FOOTBALL Clubs, so the subject is FOOTBALL, but as we're much better at it than them, they rarely want to talk about it.

And so our specific location, as they see it, is all they've got to attack us with.

Sad.

Bolton, Rochdale, Wigan and Bury are also within the boundaries of Greater Manchester, but I dont see a Manchester within their title.

So, can we expect to see a Manchester County, Manchester Wanderers, Manchester Athletic, Manchester Athletic 2.0 and Manchester F.C. sometime soon if some of our other neighbours decide to to claim a tenous link to the city of Manchester?

The city deserves a big club, imagine if it just had City? Embarrassing.

oh God..... not again
Greater Manchester county council only existed between 1974 to 1986.when Thatcher got rid of Red Ken from london she also removed Greater Manchester, and its 10 councils were free again to do whatever............GM Police could split again as we were before 1974.we had independant police forces but it will cost too much for Bury/Oldham/Trafford/Stockport/Salford/Manchester/Bolton/Ashton/Rochdale and Wigan..to pay for it all........

Postcodes:
parts of Yorkshire have Lancshire postcodes.
the town of Altrincham in Trafford has a Warrington postcode........ think about that ,,,,,,,,,
Postcodes are for the delivery of mail to the nearest sorting office..........google it.

and i am an expert on the Manchester>Trafford boundary, I live on it.
and I have plenty of photos of the line.
thats not football related, its a 1000 years of history.........separate history.......

my house is in Whalley Range and Trafford is across the road with different coloured tarmac going all the way down the middle..........with .different coloured wheely bins which are emptied on different days..

if you dont believe me, please ring up Trafford Town Hall and ask their local councillors if they belong to Manchester.................they are very proud about their independance....

Here we go, i hope this link works. its a good read....

Why does it matter?

Surely the parades tell their own story
One kicked off from Manchester town hall and was magnificently attended
The other, now officially known as " the embarrassment",started on a shopping street on the outskirts of the city and was followed like a UKIP rally in Belfast

What difference does it make WHERE exactly Manchester United are located?

I have never seen one Manchester City fan who has been able to answer that.

Location wars, wow, I thought the sport was football, but you keep clinging to your belief of, umm, actually what is it you believe, that Man United aren't based in Manchester, so what??

My back Garden is bigger than your front garden.

That argument seems about as logical as the "trafford is not Manchester" argument

Couple of things, wernt Wimbledon forced to change their name when they moved out to MK?

There is no greater manchester anymore, the council was abolished.

Most United fans tend to put Sale/Hale Cheshire and not greater manchester on their postcode, well those not residing in the home counties then that would be a bit daft.

Trafford prides itself in NOT being part of Manchester indeed Stretfordians believe they are still either a seperate borough or part of Lancashire.

Just a little local knowledge
