Remember when Liverpool bought Jordan Henderson for £20m, but are adamant he only cost £16m?

"Chamakh is out of contract at the end of the season at which time he can command a signing-on fee. The Guardian claims this could be as much as £12m. Added to this a contract of around £60,000 a week, over the course of a five-year deal, and the total sum could hit £25m."

"The Sunday Times says Arsenal have beaten Liverpool in the battle for Bordeaux striker Chamakh – but the 'free' transfer will cost the Gunners at least £16million.

Chamakh, 26, is set to sign in the summer and will get £2.5million a year.

That will be topped up by a further £1m-a-season signing-on fee for four seasons, plus add-ons."

Please do not be so foolish as to think he hasn't cost a fortune

Why does your profile say you're an Arsenal fan

Because I am.

Your WUMing of Liverpool just shows your mentality regarding Arsenal, that we are also rans fighting for 4th or 5th with the likes of Liverpool, Spurs and Everton.

Bought/hired/loaned - does it really matter?

He's cost a fortune (for a 'free' transfer) and been complete pants

For a genuine football conversation. He hasn't been that bad. He had 11 goals by Christmas. Then he was dropped when RVP came back. I don't think that's his fault and he was actually playing quite well
