Sounds like it's going to be the PS3 with a few un-needed upgrades tbh.

I doubt I'll be buying it.

What did you expect Santi mate? We havent had any real major tech updates apart from the one they are using which is a smaller, quicker CPU/APU, with lower heat and energy outputs.

Blueray will be the standard for the foreseeable future, and it was more the PS3 was ahead of its time, and im sure this will be using DL BRs which is more than enough space.

And yes the CPU, memory and GPU/APU upgrade is needed for the system to keep up with the next gen of games.

Are they still pressing ahead with locking down on used games?

Tony thats still something up for debate. From the sound of things (and for the time being) a lot of companies are still going to go down the route of a one time downloadable code with new games for extras/ special content and the option of buying a new one via the PS Store for anyone who buys a copy second hand.

And they complain about piracy. It's clear there are pirates are on both sides.

I bought the PS3 when it first came out. Within a few years, it broke. A friend later told me that the first batches of machines are usually faulty, and it's best to wait a year or so after release before getting one.

True myhammers but not in all cases. Got my ps3 couple of weeks after it came out and still have it.

But I don't play consoles now at all really. Prefer my pc much more than any console. Will probably just stick with that

Neon I think they always offer a weeks or a days free pass, so this wouldnt affect the renting sector.

Major companys wouldnt want to shoot themselves in the foot, unless you're Konami
