John Carew - Yes, I posted an article on him the other day. I think he'd be a very good signing, especially as no transfer fee - Offer him a one year deal with good wages, chance to extend if we get promoted.
Reo-Coker - Again, I reckon he'd be a quality signing, especially in this league. Not sure Sven's in for him though.
McFadden - I think he'd be a quality option, I've always rated him, and reckon he'd do a job either as a middle of a 3, or on the wide.
Benjani - Interesting this one. Never wowed particularly, but a decent bench option. Wages for a second choice may be an issue.
Harewood - No thanks.
Koumas - Decent option, if not a little expensive on wages?! Where would he play? As part of the midfield 3? Is he better than what we have?
Chimbonda - No thanks. We have Paintsil and Peltier, and Ball and Konchesky as full back options - covered there.
Spector - Don't know much about him to be fair.
Upson - I think we're just about covered at Centre Back now.
MON had a strange attitude to Carew, and I felt he could have been more prolific somewhere where the manager more clearly wanted him. I'd rate him a fairly strong 'possible'.
McFadden is quality, but I'd want a cast-iron clean bill of health regarding his knees! If genuinely fit, again a strong 'possible' for me.
Coker runs hot and cold, and has sometimes given the impression at both West Ham and Villa of having more ego than talent. No ta.
Barnes was tipped to be the next big thing only a few years ago – with top clubs keeping an eye on him – until he started picking up injuries, since when his star has waned. I suspect he's now fated to be a nearly-man. Leave him for McClaren?
Benjani has been on £50k…
Surely we're chocka with defenders?
we'll sign none of them...
I'm not sure we'll sign anyone else now. There will be some good players who don't make the Prem teams' capped lists and have to be loaned out, and to many of them (and their parent clubs) Sven's Leicester will look like a relatively attractive destination for an August-January loan. There's even still an outside chance that we could get Routledge that way – he has another season after this on his contract, so Newcastle aren't obliged to accept a shabby bid to get shot of him this window.
I wouldn't mind seeing Giles Barnes down here. Thought he was good when WBA beat us in the cup.
We need a striker...a Striker that scores Goals.
on fifa my scouted player from peru he is a fantastic striker and 19 years old. Estefan quantra esayies... We should find this guy, he bagged 27 goals last season
