How gracious, how sportsmanlike, and how typical of Wolves supporters,
I applaud you sir
They are the light in the footballing crypt that is the West Midlands, a distant trumpet in a region ruled by the anguished tones of gnashing teeth. They go before us as a glorious beacon, clearing the way ahead for timid souls bruised by one too many disappointments.
They have done it the hard way. They chose not to spend an inheritance that isn't yet theirs, but chose the narrow road less well travelled. Prudence was their banner and Patience was their shield, the fruit of which can now be marvelled at by the whole world.
Once again:
Well done West Bromwich Albion FC
Well done West Brom. Set to be top midlands club again this season.
I once helped an old and frail baggie cross the road.
How he dodged the traffic on that M6 I'll never know
'As your considerably more successful near neighbours'
- are you pretending to be a Villa fan this season, Herbert?
I remember one Wolves fan last season - was it Isle of Bute? - who said at least Wolves would win more games in the Championship while Albion would struggle to win games in the Premier League. But as JH Baggie points out, so far this season Wolves have won 6 out of 16 while Albion have won 6 out of 11. Ha ha! That perfectly illustrates the gulf in quality between Albion and Wolves, both in players and managers.
