Sam,
life is not black and white, things happen in peoples lives that are unplanned for.i think we need to safe gaurd women in this particular case.
we all make mistakes, sometimes pregnancies happen for all the wrong reasons.sometimes they are violations, sometimes just mistakes.
until you or i are in this position, fortunately being male helps somewhat, perhaps this is a question for women themselves to answer?
maybe the best us fellas can do is support whatever decision they make,as long as they have a choice of course.
I am not being insensitive or completely disregarding the risks and harm to women of this situation, I just feel that abortion is taking the life of a baby, and the significant reduction in abortions that would occur by prohibiting them far outweighs the potential harm to women who will continue to seek abortions illegally.
--------------
You are placing a lot of faith in the mother bringing up the child in a loving manner. The baby that emerges from an unwanted pregnancy, may not have the life that any right minded person would want for it.
More unwanted kids in childrens homes doesnt make sense.
Also where is the father? The hypothetical 14 year old mother, doesnt have an opportunity to settle down and live happily ever after. Baby becomes massively disadvantaged just by being born into a single parent family.

Opinion polls say Obama will squeeze it, I expect he will win it just about.
I was a big fan of Barack Obama, but he is now a dangerous president. Let me explain.
The US commits terrible atrocities all over the world on a regular basis, but people see Obama and instantly forget. When Bush was in power, the US was rightly regarded as the biggest threat to world peace and stability.
But people now just see a likeable black man as president and everything else is brushed aside. If Romney wins, the US will once again have a nutcase running the country and the US will once again be rightly seen for what it is.
You didn't do a great job of explaining that.

If they can't live un-aided if taken out of the womb, by medical definition they're not fully human and, as such, they don't share the same human rights.
It might sound callous to you, Sam, but there is a reason why there are these definitions and rulings in place. To protect both mother and child in extreme circumstances.

What do you think about people in comas?
Do they share the same human rights? Are they not fully human?

Hardly, or the world wouldnt be hanging of the edge of its seat.
Problem is, it could all be academic.
Obama might well win the Presidential election but if the Senate is Republican controlled it would count for little.

Why the sexism? Are you saying that men can't understand certain things based on their gender?
