"After enjoying the rub of the green to take a vice-like grip on the three-Test opener"
The Australian press are just as embarrassing as ours
Pretty pathetic reporting isn't it....re; (rub of the green)
I mean, how difficult is it sit down and type what the bloody hell happened in 3 sessions of cricket without some scribe putting his own vile into to it.......report and toss the comments into rubbish bin..
When he says rub of the green does he mean dropped catches? Or that there were 2 marginal LBW decisions that DRS didn't overturn? Either way, pretty shameful.
It's just a bitter and snide comment to try and convince himself that Australia weren't dominated on day 1.
Such margins are dominance built on. dropping catches and overstepping the mark are such stupid mistakes Australia deserved to be dominated. Hopefully that will be a kick up the backside for the rest of this test/series.
In my opinion on what the author was suggesting by the rub of the green comment was....he was indicating how lucky Sth.Africa were instead of blasting the Aussies for being so terrible...I'm not sure what commentary you blokes get, but Mark Taylor this morning was absolutely shocking with his comments of bias.....shish!!! just call the game for crying out loud..
'This is a caption of todays paper in Sydney...one has to feel for the poor sod..'
I think I feel more sorry for your excuse of a team sydneyboy. They better pull their socks because I see a follow-on defeat heading their way.
Sad
Sorry poxy....I don't waste my time with fools...
