Neon, if you have anything to add to the thread, please do so, otherwise, on your bike.
Can you get this famous Indian drink in the UK Indian restaurants? Can't remember what it was called but Topdog was a fan of it
Certainly wasn't mango lassi. In all seriousness these kind of comments are all part and parcel of the game. Just a shame sky sports commentators won't be around for Shastri vs Nasser hussain round 2.
I wouldn't take to much out of articles in the paper.....the editor/author make up anything in order to sell a rag or two....
Mind you, I do like the idea of trying out Indian food even if I'm not traveling to the sub-continent.....love it.
someone talking about mind games? hahaha. this is honestly getting ridiculous. when ajmal says he has a teesra which doesnt even exist, people applaud it and are curious to see what will happen and etc. when india tour australia or england, or SA we are always peppered with bouncer stories in newspapers and press conferences. that time everything is called tactics, but when a so called indian player does it its called mind games.
afridi in simple terms, everyone does that. it shouldnt bother anyone and shouldnt even be a point to discuss.
I'm with afridi on this one....some might be better then others at various times but they all do it....
Viru,
Clearly it is a point to discuss as it was in papers yesterday and ashwins comments were main headline on cricinfo yesterday – chill out, why you getting defensive over a non-issue mate?.
Agree Rabbitohs, that it happens all the time, regardless of which series are being played. I do think that its mind games though, even A.Cook today has expressed how hes’ disappointed at not facing enough spin during tour matches…. Its clearly playing on the minds.
As for Gavaskar – hes always been colourful with his words
I find it very amusing that a few days before England play a 4 match test series in the Sub C, a place where we have struggled for years, although against an Indian side that is poor, I have to read on the BBC main page, and infact the main headlines that an Indian is picking the England team for us, telling us who to pick Ridiculous
Bresnan,
Who are you referring to?
Dravid picking Panesar. Why on earth would Dravid want England to pick a better team?
Again, RIDICULOUS
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/20313758
Whilst Dravid is a well respected figure in the game, I agree it's not really his place to comment on who England should and shouldn't pick. Also, his views on Samit Patel are a bit harsh seen us Patel hasn't really been given a chance at test level.
Didnt monty get a ticking off from the ECB last year for giving Sachin practice in nets during the India - England series?
Not sure mate, I can't tell the difference between Monty and Tendulkar so don't know who was bowling at who. They both bat cra'p so that didn't help me either
Maksi
Welcome back mate. Neon has been missing you, he even did an article admitting England would beat India anywhere in world. Think he's finally got your point. Took time, but better late than never
Monty Patel and sachin all same thing to you mate

Before he accuses me of being a racist again, which I am not, I will put it to him that I have infact bought a turban and am sat here wearing it
This is going to be a cracking series. England going with a new opener. Do we pick Patel ? Who is going to bowl?
Whatever happens we have to go with Bresnan. For whatever reason he makes things happen for our team.
Agree should be a cracking series. Just a pity with Finn being injuried was looking forward to seeing how the Indians would deal with his pace. Massive series for Bell, KP and Trott- have these 3 learnt anything from last year?
Yeah neon still drinks apparently. It's some indian drink with a weird name to it.... Kash supplies him on a weekly basis
Are we sure that Finn is out of the first test match? Like you I was looking forward to seeing some of his chin music, bowling at knee height at Tendulkars head
This is going to be a cracker. England struggling, and not even sure who to play against India who have been pants for years now.
Hard to call.
Agree should be a goody but England prep to the tour is slightly worrying
KP affair
Team morale
New captain
New openers
Finn out
Broad injured
No spin practice
Swann not played all practice matches
If we take these 1 at a time then apparently the KP affair is dead and buried and everybody is happy. He is afterall a great player.
By all accounts team morale is superb.
The new captain has been doing some captaining for a while now and will be fine.
1 of our openers is great, not sure about the other, agreed.
Is Finn definitely out? That said we have 5 other quicks with more experience than him.
Broad is apparently on the mend.
We didn't get any spin practice but I thank the indian teams for making sure that Bell and our new opener, who were desperately out of form are no totally in form.
Swann is a great cricketer and a couple of net sessions will be enough for him.
I am not worried at all because the opposition are attrocious.
