BBC are also reporting Tudgay as well.

A quick check on Wikipedia tells me in the league he's scored 9 in 52 games for Forest, not a great record, but he always seemed to pop up with a vital goal or two for both Wednesday and the Trees and I think given the right service he'll put away the chances being missed by the likes of Harewood. This is good news, but we still desperately need Davies back in the team.

According to News Now Barnsley, we have signed Tudgay on loan for a month and are still looking at a deal for O' Grady.. Hmmm we're looking at O'Grady and the wendies are looking at Connor Wickham... Something not quite right..

I don't want to see Hill go, but for the last two months he's been trying to justify failure in every pre and post match interview..

A step in the right direction.

Tudgay gives us an additional dimension in that he has the capacity to be dangerous and when this is the case space opens up for other players so at least with him on board, hopefully we will generally score more goals.

At the moment Dagnall, Etuhu and Harewood are not enough of an attacking threat. I would like to see Tudgay play in Dagnall's position ultimately with Davies or indeed Mido (a thinner Mido) in front of him.

Jury is out, Show us what you can do Marcus Tudgay.

Hope he does well for you. I like Tuds, but his opportunities will be limited if he stays with us. He is a very clever player in my opinion and if others can get on his wavelength he could be a big success. His goals per game is not great but he is a good team player.

That's a bit extreme Madrush, every football club has it's pondlife, but I think that the racists and homophobes make up the tiniest minority and it will hardly be a factor.

Besides if he puts the ball in the net all will be forgiven.

Just commenting on what I hear around me on a regular basis. Ever notice that when anyone criticises previous 'disaster' players it's always Dave Regis, Kayode Odejayi etc? I'm not the only one to notice it either.

That said, I hope Tudgay can do a job for us. His goals-per-game ratio may not be great but it's still better than our current strike force. We miss Davies but I hope KH doesn't rush him back too soon and risk more serious injury.

One plus point for Tudgay is that he's said he wants to impress and get back into the Forest team, so at least he's here to do well rather than just making up the numbers

I do understand what you're saying Madrush, but I often do the Odejayi/Regis thing as well. That's not because I'm racist, it's because they were truly awful players Either that or the 2002/2003 team (O'Callaghan, Mulligan et al.), who were mainly white and also very, very bad players.

Tudgay strikes me as one of those forwards who will do nothing in a game and then pop up with a winner at the far post, a bit like Bogdanovic use to do. We have a team full of hard workers who for all their effort haven't a clue what to do when they reach the 18 yard box, and infuriatingly often play it back instead of having a shot or putting a cross in. This not only gifts the opposition a chance to attack, but also makes myself and most of the crowd rather angry and have cause to get on the player's backs, who then play even worse.

Anyway I digress, and think Tudgay will score some vital goals for us given the chance.

More than a third of MH's appearances were at Premiership level.

I do think MT is a very good acquisition and should fit in well with how we play. It's not always about the stats!

davedrew, I agree stats mean nothing. Also Harewood is 33, he is not the player he was at 25. Tudgay has also spent a lot of time as a winger, as for Dagnall his goals were all in the lower leagues, the guy lacks finess to score goals in this division.

I wouldn't sat stats mean nothing, but you provide some good examples of how one needs to look beyond them.

Another good example is Andy Gray, whose stats didn't look great unless you knew that he played as a midfielder until he was 25.

The main thing I was pointing out was that one's arguments lose weight if one gets the basic facts wrong, it's very easy to check before posting!
