Perhaps, but our board is the most active of any International country and we have at least 100 more articles than any of them either.

Good article Henrik
Facts are ALL our friendlies turn into borefests!!

With the exception of the 3 Carling Nations Cup matches against Scotland, Wales and NIreland they are usually dull affairs.

Positives from last night was watching us pass the ball around for once. That said we committed the usual crime of defending too deep which seems to be part and parcel of the Trapatonni led Ireland !!

And yes i blame Trapatonni for that! Defend too deep against the good international sides and you are only encouraging them to lay siege on our goals and right on cue last night O'Shea didn't get close enough to the Greeks and hey presto they scored!!

The more Trapattoni plays Simon Cox, the more I’m convinced he’s his love child

The Sweden game will decide everything in terms of qualification, especially since they got a point in Germany.

I hope we can get it right, but they're a decent side and just humped the English 4-2.

Trap has always had his peculiar choices and favourites in players. In the past we've seen him develop nonsensical crushes on Paul McShane, Paul Green, Andy Keogh and Kevin kilbane but very much flavour of the month at present is Simon Cox. Not only does he get a ridiculosuly high amount of starts over our undoubtedly best player Shane Long but he also gets more wing time play than many of our established premiership wing players.

Trap truely is a mess, he neither knows nor cares what positions his players are best suited too and the lastest facade of attending a few games in England wont last. The campaign will further unravel into chaos and I wouldnt be suprised if we struggle to hold off Austria for fourth place. This mans era should have ended after the Euro's. He's been winging it himself for far too long as he knows he's now too old to get another job in football so he'll continue to embarrass himself on the world stage at our expense.

Attendance last night was just the start of a very depressing year plus ahead, of the 16,000+ who attended at least half were schoolboys on freebies as the high pitched childlike cheers that could be heard told the true story. Delaney and co are being found out again, not fit to run a bath and the only people they serve in Irish football are themselves!!

While it was great to see Ireland dominate possession for a change we have to acknowledge it was against Greece. Now Greece as their world ranking shows are actually a good team but their style of play is very much to let the opposition have the ball and soak up pressure. Bit like us a lot of the time actually.

As for the crowd? Well if Zlatan tears us a new one in March then the crowds for the rest of qualifying will be small, if we get a point and keep 2nd place as a realistic possibility then the crowds will pick up again.

Good points Pogued. If we can manage somehow to come away from Sweden with a draw and then beat Austria at home a few days later it should keep things interesting.
I don't think we'll finish in the top 2 but its important that we at least finish 3rd for seedlings for the Euro Qualifiers.
New manager (surely) and some good young players coming through as well but so things the future isn't looking so bad!!

You obviously don't know too much about Football del monte man!!

know plenty about it thanks very much

A supporter goes to games and support their team no matter if they have a chance of success or who they are playing against

posted on 15/11/12

Who do you support? Have you ever heard of a fans protest.

Sounds like you're talking through your hoole to me

He's a Rangers fan, Armchair.

Which means he can't hear anything you're saying because his ears are blocked after years of burying his head in the sand!

I agree, it's shameful, and not a little sad, how all levels of the game in Ireland will suffer. Cute hooowerism is still writ large in the articles of association of the F.A.I. .

John Delaney is the biggest cancer in the history of irish football. Sickening to see local clubs go bust whilst he gives himself a pay rise.
