err, I don't think so - our form in the SPL in recent years following european trips suggests that we don't recover well from a short haul flight with minimum time difference
Why not Curly?

We would be in the same boat with 4 of our rivals. Plus we do it anyway, we went to play Real in the states after the season started, so why not play Real and a competitive game if we are already there?

They saw what we did to Barcelona Mojie, so don't expect to jump at the idea.
Ryder cup is a success as it involves majority of the best players in the world
Spl v mls will involve players that are of very low quality in the grand scheme of things , therefor I'd say it would be unappealing to sponsors and television companies
Curly, it is one extra game per team. If the new proposals for our league go through we might be playing less games anyway per season.
It does not have to be an officially sanctioned tournament. Why would it be any different than the friendly competition we played in Dublin a couple of years ago?
What else you got?
Damian
Grasping at straws indeed, but we have to generate money and remarket our game. Time to think outside the box. We are unfortunate that the EPL had such a big money boom, its harder for us to compete. Only ten years ago we signed Chris Sutton, an EPL league winner in his prime for 6.5 million. We offered competitive wages and champs league footy. Now we cannot even sign Jordan Rhodes. Our league is in the exact same place it was 10 years ago. We need to try something different.

Agreed delmonte, it would be fairly low quality comparably speaking. But, there is more and more money being poured into the domestic footy here in America, a lot of money. Attendances increase every year and I think Football is probably thought of higher than Hockey now. Most of the sponsorship money would come from the states, but I think it could be done.
By the way I was just using the Ryder Cup as a format, not saying it will be an amazing spectacle that will sweep the nation.

How do you know UEFA or FIFA would not allow it? Why do they allow friendlies?

That's as well as may be.
But any wum from across the border having a go at any of our Scottish football deserves all they get. It's probably the only thing that unites fans of Scottish clubs.
Him included
So we can put it down but any one from over the border doing the same is out of order??
We agree with what you are saying but cos you are from over the border we will argue with a pint we both agree with?
Pathetic

Definitely grasping at straws. I know it won't happen, just wondering if anyone has any plausible reason as to why not.
Can these cross league tournaments exist outside of FIFA?

I don't need my fellow fans to back me up or agree with everything I say , and as yet I fail to see where I've been roasted as you suggest
