im not too worried about everton or even sunderland as they both lack funds to buy and would only offer wigan easy terms for him which wigan dont want.
villa can offer payment up front and that gives us first choice on ziggy.
I believe the deal will be done this week for him.

What was your point? Just frustration to it not being done?

Whelan wants 10 mil. Give him 11!

Dead right! Villa management seem determined to confirm everyone's worst fears. Is this Faulkner playing stupid games? MON was rightly condemned for the way he left Villa, but he probably was faced with a similar problem. Now its AM's turn to face what he's got to deal with.

Your club need to sort this out ASP as the agreeing the fee is the easy part, while haggle over the sakes of £1M

The hardest part will be N'Zogbia is a a greedy begger and you want to hope that Villa are the bigest club in for him or he could end up messing you about.

You'd better hope Rodwell and Jagielka stay at Everton, because I heard he favours a move to the Toffee's.

Whelan wants 10 mil. Give him 11! Lets get talking to N'Zogbia. We need him, he wants us

Where has he says he wants to join Villa? I know Villa fans are crying out for a decent winger, but I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, he'll do the same thing to Villa as he's doing Wigan. The guy lacks loyalty, and would only use the likes as Everton and Villa as stepping stones for bigger things. The club my earn a bob or two, but is it worth the heart ache.

It's a win win situation. Sign him on a 4 year contract and if he wants to do a Downing in 2 years time sell him on at a vast profit. In the meantime, he's always played to his limit on the pitch and we should get great service for Bent. Hopefully in two years time our rebuilding will be a lot more advanced and we may have other options. We need him now.

Well i think Whelan is playing a very stubborn Hardball game, as N'Zogbia could walk for free in the Summer.

So come January they may not even get £5M for him.

If i was Villa i would pay up the £10M because you cant have this drag on, (get used to wasting time on targets under McLeish )

You see if N'Zogbia sees out his contract and is a free agent next season, he would get more clubs after him because of no fee, but what you also have to whatch out for is if N'Zogbia becomes a free agent he will demand at least £10K more than he is now a week.

Looks like you could consider giving McFadden a 1 year contract, at least thats some cover for LM in case N'Zogbia does not come off.

Better than seeing McLeish play Heskey at either LM or off a Striker.

We need a winger and N'Zogbia ticks the right boxes. It's ironic that they won't pay £10m, only £9m, when they were so fussy about Downing's fee, a player who in my opinion is inferior to N'Zogbia. It was the same with Milner, another player who they blatantly overpriced. Yet N'Zogbia ia actually worth £10m and would strengthen the first team considerably. Currently we have no out and out left winger and this is disturbing. Sign N'Zogbia, and suddenly the team looks ok, not top 6 but not bottom half either.

Given
L.Young Collins Clark Warnock
Makoun Delph
Albrighton Ireland N'Zogbia
Bent

Subs: Guzan, Lichaj, Dunne, Bannan, Petrov, Agbonlahor, Delfouneso.

Then I would hope we can sign one centre back, one right back and one centre mid, even if we just get some loan signings in. Defence looks the weak link by far in my honest opinion. However, midfield and attack looks threatening if Albrighton steps up and Ireland reproduces the form he showed two years ago.

Clearly we're no longer a top six team but top 8 isn't unreasonable, especially as the only side outside the top six who can rival Villa for quality is Everton.

Things looking up (slightly)

Seems you have agreed the same £9.5M fee we did last year, now its on to the other part and thats seeing what greedy demands N'Zogbia has.

If Villa are more than happy to pay £65K+ a week then you will land your man.

Top Player, just a real bad attitude and prima donna, oh well i guess one wont hurt

Not like you havd Tevez and Balotelli to throw their toys out the pram as well

He'll sign. We already have players in that sort of dosh and we can't afford the backlash of missing out on him. 65k a week is about right. We are under no illusions, he will stay with us for 2-3 seasons then go to a top 4 if he performs well. Then we'll sell him for double. Good deal. 9.5 mil=bargain!

posted on 26/7/11

You see the thing is though he is not good enough to be a Top 4 player.

He comes across as someone who thinks he is better than he is.

He is to me a £8M player who on his best days can match any £15M player, but he is inconsistant. £9.5M is about the right price.

If he can be happy and stay commited then he is potentially a good player.

He did not want to come to Blues because he wanted to move to a bigger club like Sunderland.

Villa are a bigger club and he should be very happy he has got a move to a potential 6-8 club (its all about the money or else Villa are/should be Top 5 ).

Of couse he is good enough to be a top 4 player. For now, however, he will stay with us.
