I used to go to Walkabout every week to watch games and (no joke) eat kangaroo steak and prawns and sit with a bunch of mates but after seeing one guy get glassed in the face by a Chelsea 'fan' I retired from most pub football and just sit back and watch games in my warm lounge.

Best way to go (other than being at the game)

Football 'lads' are sad. The same banter day in day out, jokes that have been going for 10 years, the same stories from the divorced, drunk 40 year old in the pub on Sunday afternoon....I enjoyed it when I was one if the you g lads coming through, now it's boring.

Rather watch it at home and have the mrs cook me a roast talking on a match thread lol, or with my father.

Kangaroo steak is quite nice, similar to vennison. Used to buy it in woolworths for a couple of quid down under and cook it on the BBQ at the beach.

I miss Australia

Haha, woolworths. In England a crappy shop that got shut down. In Australia its a great supermarket.

There's a great place in Covent Garden that sells all the great australian food.

Where you from in oz rob? I travelled the easy coast, spent 6 months working in a hotel in the Daintree Rainforest in near Port Douglas, did a little fruit picking in Bowen, spent the rest of my time living life with the money is earned (and my god you get paid well).

Born in Sydney but spent most of my time in Canberra and the Gold Coast.
One day i'll move back to the Gold Coast and get a nice house on the beach (for the price of a 1 bed flat in Lewisham in London!)

I love England and it is a great country but the weather we're having at the moment is massively depressing!

My mates in the GC are telling me how hot it is there like it's a bad thing

Fruit picking is such a great way to make money for travellers. I wouldn't do it though. Heard about one guy that got bitten by a taipan and died!
