right stop it now lads, we all know its city.
I would'nt class dortmund with the aforementioned despite staduim size.
Big clubs:
United
Real madrid
AC Milan
Barcelona
Bayern
Juventus
Liverpool
==================
They might be big, but City are MASSIVE!
The 20 biggest clubs in the world, in no particular order are
Manchester United
Real Madrid
Arsenal
Barcelona
Bayern Munich
Liverpool
AC Milan
Juventus
Chelsea
Inter Milan
Schalke 04
Tottenham Hotspur
Lyon
Hamburg
Roma
Werder Bremen
Marseille
Borussia Dortmund
Manchester City
Newcastle
I can't see anyone having much of a problem with that x
Manchester are an average club who won the EPL last year. All City fans know this. It's very sad really. Sad and quite moving, to be honest.
Barca are much bigger than Arsenal surely?
ajax are bigger than half those clubs as are fc porto and benfica
my list of the 20 biggest clubs in europe would be
ajax
ac milan
arsenal
barcelona
bayern munich
benfica
borussia dortmund
chelsea
intenazionale
liverpool
manchester united
marseille
porto
real madrid
atletico madrid
juventus
celtic
PSG
lyon
tottenham
What have PSG ever won in their illustrious 40 year history?
well they were one of the best teams in europe in the mid 90's when they had george weah in the side and won the cup winners cup in 1996, they are also one of the best teams in europe as we speak
Are Lyon in on the strength of having won the Intertoto Cup 15 years ago?
no the fact they have been regular visitors to the champions league latter stages for over a decade and won 7 league titles in a row between 2002 and 2008
PSG have only ever been the best team in France twice and there's not an awful lot of competition over there. Don't know about this season but they usually average about 25,000, not bad as the only club in a city of 8 Million people.
well marseille were one of the best teams in europe in the late 80's and early 90's when PSG were also at their best
Spurs, what's your excuse for them? Not won a title since 1960.
Marseille Bent as a nine franc note.
its not just about the here and now boris, when city can show themselves to be even remotely capable of playing competently in europe they cannot be considered one of the biggest clubs in europe
If it wasn't about the here and now, Borrusia Moenchenglabach, Hamburg and Schalke would probably be ahead of Dortmund plus PSV and Feyenoord would be in with a shout.
not really dortmund have won the champions league more recently than any other german club apart from bayern and are the current champions twice in a row, and anyway its all about opinions, the above list is just my opinion
and dortmund have won more titles than any of the teams you mentioned (8) the only teams to win more are FC Nuremberg (9) and Fc bayern (22)
Borussia Mn. and Hamburg were European powerhouses in the 80's and probably have more of a claim than Benfica or Porto.
porto have won 2 european cups in the last 25 years, and benfica have contested 7 european cup finals winning 2 and losing 5 and both are still european powerhouses now, regularly playing in the knockout stages of the champions league year in year out
